Or of course the cluster plug! One member cleared his fault by cleaning the connector up. Post 10&11.

Good day. So on todays first spin of the day i had the laptop beside me ready to clear the G68 code should my trip computer start working. Several miles into my journey the fault light on the dash goes out and my instantaneous MPG on the trip computer started working, however the average MPG never. The light was only out for a couple of miles before it came back on so it certainly looks like a dodgy connection somewhere.
Recently I've had the trim round the handbrake lever slid back as far as it would go as i was tapping into the cigarette lighter wiring, possibly could have done something to the diff lock wiring? I had the instrument cluster out a couple of years ago, infact it was out and in many times as i was tracing a fault with my rev counter. All connectors to the instrument cluster were disconnected many times during the period trying to fix the rev counter. I would think the pins would have cleaned up nicely during this period but perhaps they have come loose in some manner. Certainly worth a check anyway for all the hassle it is.
At least one positive is that after connecting Ecu pin 50 to the white/blue wire my fault light goes out when the trip computer comes to life, another step in the right direction!!
Why would only the instantaneous mpg work and not the average mpg?? Normally when one works so does the other??
Fun and games working on these old girl's!!Comment
