    Intake manifold porsche inscription

    This may be a stupid question,but someone in greece told me that that inscription is actually 'stuck' in a way on the inlet manifold and you can detach it.

    He actually did this and put it on carstens reverse manifold...

    can that be true?,if so you can it be done?

    Never seen one in real life but I understand that there are 2 types. One is cast and one is a seperate plate which is indeed 'stuck' on.

    I think Jas11n may have pictures of both types.

      if there is a stuck on item,can it be bought from somewhere? is it a part?

        The only stuck on one ive heard of was in the original RS2 sales brochure when apparently they placed the Porsche inscribed plaque on top for the photo shoot as the proper manifold wasnt ready in time. In the pic it looks like its just balanced on top.

                yes you are right,
                it's just something that i always thought should be there when the bonnet it lifted up...
                however now that i think of it the car is pretty much NON porsche tuned anymore apart from the brakes...so i could just write audi RS2 on top!

                    I quite like the idea of putting 1.8i on it to confused those supposed car buffs who reckon they know it all about cars but don't know what an S2 is

                        Always wanted to put a TDi badge on the back but if they are close enough to see the IM then they might spot it is a petrol engine

                          i have mine next to me and it does not look like you can detach it,

                          One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!

                            maybe you have that type of manifold then.mine has a groove around the inscription and it doesnt seem to be detachable.
