He's saying that because the drop link is attached further inboard the wishbone it has less leverage, but i thought the difference was neglible as the drop link on the normal roll bars are mounted on the macpherson which moves slightly less anyway. -
Torque = Force x distance from centre of rotation. Thus, the increase in length means a greater torque is applied. See the beginning of the thread for my calculations and assumptions. Feel free to offer some others but if you start introducing distance moved then that is talking about energy stored rather than the basic torsional modulus of the material and thus torsional stiffness.Leave a comment:

Got the drop links, got the roll bar and bushes (probably knackered but hey...) but i can't find the mounts for the roll bar to the subframe nor can i find the other wishbone with the bushes in (also probabbly knackered anyway). If you need these i'll have another look when it's light.
Just to confirm, drop links are very kinky

Cool. Thanks Al.
They need to be the kinked ons as they need to clear the driveshaft, and also if you look at Dougs pics from the link on the first page, the ARB is offset from the wishbone

They were probably meant for an early 10v. Wishbones are the same otherwise i think.Leave a comment:

Mine were Febi ones from QC and came with teh bushes pressed in if I'm not mistaken. I was a little confused as I'd not seen that style ARB.Leave a comment:
