I just used a wrench with sharp teeth. Fits nicely between the spring gaps.

Yep thats what i'm after Andy the proper tool for the job although great for undoing standard suspension not suitable for Bilstein shocks apparantly after doing some extensive reading on here. Anyone got one they don't need anymore?

I take it you would like to avoid buying from America if possible?

How much did you pay for it can you remember?

Edit,i reckon you didn't have to pay import duty because your government up there isn't so petty as ours down here! I always get clobbered by the feckers.

While the correct tool is a nice idea, due to costs the Stilson (?) tool in the photo is the answer. oem is not possible / necessary everytime.

Use rubber inner tube on the jaws if concerned over teeth marks, but the teeth marks are never seen and a dab copper grease on them is all that is required.

                      Works for me.

i had a luck buying the VAG tool from stealer for 17 quids.that was really bargain.
now NLA and not allowed customer to buy VAG tools over again.Silly stealer policy.
