034 Short Shift

Just wanted to post here that I got my kit from DeS and it really has made a big difference to my gear shifting (its a proper short shift now) on my 5 speed - installation was super easy and straight forward and only needed modifying of the plastic sleeve to retain the lockout. Can absolutely recommend from my side.

I have fitted my short shift to my 6 speed and it doesnt feel fully correct. I had to check the tutorial someone made on here. I think one of the members posted a link to the pdf file.
It is hard to go into 1st and 2nd gear now. To be honest my gearbox does find it a little difficult to do this before, but since fitting, it has become very bad to almost dangerous.
So ill either need a new gearbox, or a rebuild in the future. Or could it be linkages? Or something else?
I also noticed a different green spring being used in the tutorial, which I assume comes from a golf.
but you can still use the red spring from the Audi.
I think the green spring would maybe offer more tension, to prevent accidental slipage into reverse mode for selecting reverse gear.
Ill post the rest on my normal build project page also. I will now attempt to investigate the setup to see if i can improve this. Here is my progress:Attached Files- IMG_20210627_164032.jpg (1.28 MB, 148 views)

Some more photos...
I had to saw the hard cream coloured sleeve, to allow the push down selector to reach its desired depth to allow reverse selection.
I had to drill out the bonded 4 points holding the underneath reverse selector part to the main body and prize them apart from each other and then also drill a new hole into the new short shift kit and custom bolt them to each other.. i also had to cut the bolts down as it interferes with the chassis of the audi when you try to bolt the short shift kit back into the car itself.
I will investigate further.. the gears 3,4,5,6 are fine and shorter shift, so very happy here.
Its just 1st, 2nd and reverse can be weird and hard to select... the gear stick even pops down under pressure when going into 2nd, like the reverse gear function... (perhaps rectified with used the green golf spring).
I.will post any improvements, or if anyone here has any helpful info.
Im using motul 300 gear oil... i heard also tdi gearbox was a nice upgrade apparantly also... Any thoughts?Attached Files- IMG_20210629_204933.jpg (1.24 MB, 127 views)
