    And I found this

Zoom in and you can just see the outline of the Scotts motor tune sticker that was on all the Nothelle cars.

Then gave her a good scrub

And oil change no 4 since the engine re-build. Gone semi synthetic for this one then will be fully synthetic Fuchs next one ( in about 1000 miles).

Ok, I read up here about the MAF connector. I cleaned it up with proper contact cleaner (I think I used WD40 before). Took her for a spin and........... ... wow she really goes. No boost cut, smooth as a turbine all the way to the top

Misfire at 4K might be IAT sensor..
Anyway, pull codes and see if you’ve got a boost pressure exceeded code
not going through the windscreen. Boost cut I think. I will check for codes later today.

Surely its run in buy now? The only thing that might need some sort of running in are the rings and bearing surfaces? And I would think they are fine after a few little drives. Never seen anyone in any sort of motorsport doing any running in... They whack it together, start them, warm up and then just send it. Dirtbikes, snowmobiles, cars whatever. I do understand your concern though, as this car keeps haunting you with niggles.

I checked all the hoses and they are still firmly attached. I did a boost leak test before (thanks Newsh) and it was good. I wonder if the Nothelle chip has anything to do with this? I'm still running standard ABY turbo right now but will be changing over when run in to my hybrid. I've been doing some reading here and will check all the other possibilities tomorrow.

Ok. I will have a look. Maybe something has popped off. I didn't notice any issues on the way up but was a bit more adventurous on the way home

I’ve been for a nice long drive. Up to see Trist and chat about S2’s (as you do).
The wheel bearing issue is now all fixed and no play whatsoever. Very pleased about that.
But this car seems to throw a new challenge just as you think you are done. First of all, during the first 20 miles the petrol gauge dropped rapidly, then the petrol light came on. I stopped and filled up but could only get 40 litres in. Since then it’s behaving normally. I’ve done about 200 miles today and now it says I have about half a tank left.
Then, I thought I would slowly build the revs up. Up to about 5k no issues. But if I floor it (WOT) the engine starts cutting out at 4K revs. Everything else seems ok and I did rev up to about 6k on 3/4 throttle with no cut out at all. Any suggestions?

A pic from the Brecon area.

    Who knows?
