    Good effort

    Like this?

And I found this on eBay for £12

Mine had some scoring so it was a no brainier not to swap it.

And I made a little bracket for the oil cooler. It was vibrating against the slam panel support. It doesn’t look very pretty but does the job.

I finally got around to changing the gearbox part. I got a good second hand one from a very kind forum member.

The old part was completely f##ked! I couldn’t even get the spanner in it. Had to remove with mole grips. Looks like chemical erosion?
My temporary repair was holding well though.
    All fitted and good now.

That's not good. Everyone needs a day off now and again.

A few years ago, Alex (error404) was able to supply gold contacts to put into the MAF connectors. No idea if they are still available but I'm sure I've read somewhere in a Bentley service manual that there is a procedure during fault finding on the engine that; the factory specify replacing with gold plated terminals.

Put some in and avoid corrosion problems in the future!

(or find an aftermarket connect with gold pins already in and solder that into your loom maybe)

Ah that old chestnut, you maybe read that it took me ages to finally cure mine. If it seems to be coming back again then pop the pins out of the connector shell and clean them properly or replace them.

    Glad she’s going properly !

This video is the best one I could find that shows how the tool is used and its the same set up as the S2 Avant. I wouldn't recommend using the air gun during the procedure as if something isn't lined up correctly, things could get broken fairly quickly.
