Oh that beeeeeeeep would be scarey now... Never cornered that fast & long - honest officer !

Does anyone sell uprated oil pumps for these engines ?

If they did, and came from good source, then I'd consider one with any major engine upgrade thoughts...

Must go and photo my sump and its partial baffle things.

Not had a problem with mine on track, acceleration isn't hard enough and I prefer to be a bit girly on the brakes so there's always a bit left.

This is the joy of staying stock, everything is nicely over-engineered...

@Paul i have heard from a few sources the stock oil pump wont last long after ~7500rpms.
That would explain it then. TBH i don't know if i ever get it in the corners, if i'm on full sail round a corner i'm usually concentrating on other things

Is the baffled sump a direct swap?

The baffle is an extra part that sits in the middle, looks like..

Well it looks like 70+% of you lot want me to strip the alpinweiss

I'll be doing some weight reduction investigation soon and then try and use the Gtech to measure the differences.

And there was me coming on this thread expecting to see a stripped out car!
5 pages in and no pile of trim next to the car?

Get the car on a weighbridge and get on with it

I've had a new toy to play with :mischeif: and the small matter of chronic fatigue syndrome... I'll get on it when I have both time and energy!

Yes, track it indeed. My one is coming along slowly, but getting there. I managed to removed 65kgs by breaking up with the girlfriend, so that is money in the bank. There is now noone to complain about me having two track baised cars.

I fitted the 034 engine mounts and your snub mount recently and fitted genuine Audi 323 discs (S8's?) and DS2500s at the weekend and the car is starting to come together. Still got my Polybushes to fit and I'm waiting on my solid gearbox and diff mounts, but there is a fair improvement already.

                        Go for it!

Yeah, mu Aunt had it for 2 years and has only recently started to make progress after attending a course in Wales last year.

I'm hopefully 'just' sufferring from post viral fatigue but have been fairly ill for quite some time so it sort of morphs into CFS as far as the docs are concerned. Moving in the right direction and a few complications that have stunted my progress seem to be sorting themselves out. Hope to be back together soon though...

Wheels are in motion for this project now :driver:

HnRs are in the shed, 034 top mounts are on their way from the US, leather is for sale and Pole Position lined up for when I'm sorted. Brake lines, fluid and front friciton parts are ready to go on, just need to get the exhaust sorted and I should be onto a winner

good stuff - Sal mentioned you were chuffed with the H&Rs off his old coupe
did you go for track-density mounts? I can't decide between them and stock ones & mount savers
