'Approved Insurance Repairer' - Doesn't that just mean they are better skilled at doing work for minimum cost / max profit... As opposed to maximum quality and reasonable profit ?

Sorry that is a bit harsh but you do hear some horror stories... sounds like a happy customer here though.

I also bought a Golf MKII GTI from him... Loved that car!!!

That must have been when I had new disc's & pads fitted just before I laid it up due to the oil leak.... speeding fines & sheer cost of spares... How things have changed..

How is he? Whats he up to now? Tell him I was asking after him - Plz

He's still doing the samed old thing. I'll tell him you were after him. I've sent you a PM with his number.

I know what you mean... I have had run in's with these type of peeps before....BUT my mechanic is known for being rather piccy about where he gets his cars painted... And he uses them....

Wait till you see her finished!!

Always good to see another s2 getting some love and attention.
Did you grind a few mm off the guide pegs on the calipers?

What size discs did you go for? 323's or 314's?

Thought I listed them Guess not...

I went for the Zimmerman 323mm option (GSF about ÂŁ110.00 Plus vat! Per set)....

Seen as I have now have the 18" A8 Mk2 Avus Wheels...

I gather the 323 wont fit with the 16" Wheels.

I think they do fit, but its VERY tight, ie you cant even have any weights on the inner rim!

                        Are you sure...

I thought I had read a thread that said with the 996 Caliper, Mount & 323mm disk they actualy rubbed on the wheel when used with the Avus 16"...

But I could be wrong! (wouldn't be the first time...)

Some claim they will fit, I wouldn't risk it, the tolerances just aren't there for thermal expansion.

Looks good! are you happy with the new paint job?

You should be able to remove the glass from the lamps to clean it, although the seals may fall apart if they are rotten.
