Was surpised how big and how light they are. Gonna combine them with 4.2 C6 347x30mm rotors and 17z pads.
Can anyone suggest brake lines & mounting hardware? What grade bolts? Maybe there are hardware kits available for this? I know that I need 16mm spacers to center the caliper on the rotor.
I have found a very nice, mint looking 1997 UrS6, at a fairly low price, with a V8 under the bonnet. How much work would it be to swap the V8 to my 5-banger? Is it just engine & loom or does it involve more? Engine mounts themselves I know that are interchangeable in a C4.
The aforementioned engine recipient was not so mint after all. Body is rusty and scratchy. No go here.
But I got myself a turbo. Fairly capable piece, based on what the seller says. A K24-7200 containing Holset guts and ported housings. Stock fitment though. Seller claims 400hp capable. Will add pics when receive. Should be with me about tomorrow.
Question. How much boost can stock head bolts take?
Trust me when I say, it looks much, much better on pictures than IRL. The engine worked good, but was all wet. The body is all rusty, the bonnet, the trunk, the doors, even the fenders. It even has rust on the upper strut part. It isn't worth it. I'll spend the same amount of cash restoring my body, as opposed to paying 3K and then again 1.5K to restore that S6. I'll surf the market once in a while, I made a decision to transplant the heart to a cleaner & less bruised example.
Pics of the new leaf blower. It's massive compared to the stock 7000.
Has a nasty crack on the hotside housing. Will take it over to local turbo guys, maybe they can come up with something. If not, then I'll look for a K26 housing.
