Just looked up the Dodo mats which ones did you use bud there is lots of choice and my car defo needs them

I bought DoDo mat DEADN hex 40 mats. Not cheap but good stuff.

Depends how far you are going. I stripped all the original sound deadening inside on the floor. I still have a few sheets left but will find places for those like inside doors and a few in the boot maybe.

Hi Dave - you don't perhaps have a pic with the heater matrix in place, if you're still going to install - a pic after installation will be appreciated. It most likely will help when I grow the ***** to remove my dash and replace the matrix

Sure, I will take a few as I replace.

The project is quite frustrating at the mo as I keep having to move on to fitting something else. Can't fit headliner as waiting for c pillar trims, can't finish boot as waiting for hatch loom painters lost , can't finish heater box as waiting for foam, can't fit rack as waiting a boot retainer and so on

The box all cleaned up. Flap re foamed and re assembled.



I didn't have any sealing strip for the new matrix so cut some from some foam and glued using high temp spray adhesive.
It was a nice sunny day so a good day to paint the rear subframe. I had this hot dip galvanised so the paint is purely cosmetic.
I had to key the surface first with the wire wheel then use etch primer. Top coat is Bilt epoxy.


The painters didn't remove the fuse box cover or mask it very well.


I have found this skin so soft has a hundred uses! Ten minutes soaking and the paint all rubbed off. Gave the plastic a nice look as well. It doesn't seem to harm plastics at all.

You can buy brand new heater fans on eBay if yours is noisy or bearings feel loose. Not expensive iirc.

My fuse box lid is missing a catch and the spare I have is from an 80 with different labels, would be nice to find some replica labels..

The fan is good. I've just put a drop of oil on the bearing end.
