Thanks.
Looking for rear brake parts if anyone has anything knocking about. All the springs for the shoes, adjuster screws and bushes. Basically everything for the shoes is missing. I have new cables and calipers plus discs that should hopefully clean up.

Dave, i have put a link to my RS2 refurb below that i did on mine about 5 years ago, there might be something in there will help you along the way, things are hard to find and when you do find them theyre normally very expensive.
Disassembled the rear shocks
The springs will be blasted and coated. Getting quite a pile of stuff together to take to the sandblasting place.
I was surprised that the rear small wishbone is pressed steel. I happen to have a couple of cast ones (as you do). They need the old bushes removing and blasting.

I've done very little since my last update. I have had a bug or virus or something rather nasty and been layed up for ages. Anyway, today I moved the engine into the garage from the barn where it was dropped two weeks ago. It's always handy having a tractor about the place.
And thanks to another forum member I have a nice set of Koni shocks to fit.
I had a look in the bores and can see some scores.
My leak down test kit is broken. I need to do a test before I remove the head.
My friend has one I can borrow.
The timing belt is the proper rs2 specific one and properly fitted with the top mark one tooth to the left. I have ordered a new belt and will swap the water pump pulley to a new ABY pump I happen to have.
I've been gathering new parts together slowly. Hopefully get going properly on this soon.

So I managed to fix my leak down tester.
Cylinder 1,3 and 5 are good.
Cylinder 2 and 4 not so good.
And the air is escaping from the IM. So might be intake valve issue.
Anyway, head off next step.
I was hopeful I wouldn't have to rebuild the engine but it's looking that way.
Fortunately I have a full gasket set and head bolts here already (as you do).
