Thanks to a good friend in Germany, a parcel arrived today.


I need the left hand rear bumper bracket if anyone has a good one for sale? Audi Tradition are all sold out.

I got the abs pump in. One of the rubber supports was missing and had been replaced with some hose. Fortunately I had a spare (as you do).




I need to remake both front brake pipes. One has been cut and one is missing.
I'm struggling to get the aircon pipes grommet to seat. I can't remember how I did it before. It was about 6 years ago now. I just remember it was a pita!


The breather pipe under the car had a damaged end so I had to extend it slightly.


These fir tree connectors are very handy.

I had a spare one in my stash.
All the paperwork for the car was missing after bereavement sale. I am trying to gather up service history snd Audi have some records. Its also been serviced by VRS and Kim Collins in the past. I am told the car has a stage 1 MTM chip but I'm yet to pull the ECU to check. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the owners handbook is still available from Audi for £24!
A blank service record book would be nice so I can build up a record of what was done and when.

I found one of these in my parts store. It's only a new RS2 brake pipe! Shame I haven't got two. Anyway, I was thinking of getting some HEL lines so might not use it.

This afternoon I made up the front brake pipe lines.




Strangely the nearside line takes a different route on the RS2 to the offside. Thanks the RXL who sent me some pics to refer to. I had inadvertently put the pipe in the wrong place to start with.

Have you found an original service book yet? I struggled to find a blank one for my B5. Are you just gonna fill it in with the work you do or are you filling it in based on documents you’ve managed to find?

Not yet. I was going to try and re build what I know was done. I think i have a complete B5 owners pack here somewhere.

Making slow progress.
Cleaned up and ready for some zinc.


I happened to have two new genuine rear inner hoses. Didn't even know they were in the box.








Made a start on the diff.

Oil is quite clean.


Fill plug is not playing ball.

Dave, your threads blow me away. Are you planning to open the diff to inspect it? Is this an AYV code diff?

Cheers. Glad you enjoy. Diff feels good play wise so a quick clean up, new oil, new fill and drain plugs and we should be good. Going to double check the seals are good too.

The diff got a makeover.
All the rusty nuts have been cleaned, treated and painted.
New fill and drain plugs. I always use a smear of rtv on the plugs.



I have a good supply of diff oil as it's the same stuff that goes in the tractor.


It took just under 2 litres.

The actuator has a split in one place. A little epoxy should fix.


This is the last one of these I have.


And we are all together.

I have all the parts to make up rear brakes now.
Still looking for a 322x32 front disc bell or a good pair of discs if anyone has any knocking about.

The rear subframe and diff are nearly ready to go up. All the bolts have been cleaned and zinc painted and new nylock nuts fitted.



I put a cheeky offer for this on eBay and was surprised to win it.


It's the RS2 specific kit. Grin
