Congrats Noel, and aboot feckin time! I assume there are no divorce proceedings in the offing ;-) Hope you get a good price for the 16V to offset the outrageous expense you've incurred.. -
haha. yeah I felt bad leaving the steering column on there but I was working right up to the time the guy arrived to take it away. I was more concerned with getting the clutch cylinder and bits off. I figured i'd just let the steering column go since i've never seen a wanted posted for one.
anyway.. next project nuffin - I still have to finish this one. i'll be down on saturday to see if I can make the engine run smoothly instead of lumpy. Once that's done it's time to bleed the clutch, new pads all round, sort the driver's seatbelt, boot carpets, parcel shelf ledges either side, check the dash is all wired up properly, add stereo, insure it, claim new windscreen
, MOT it and then clean it. THEN i'll think about the next project (which i reckon will be a mini. fancy getting a clubman, pickup or van and mess about with it
)

I haven't updated the thread for a while because if I haven't been vomitting or sneezing, cleaning up baby vomit or replacing tyres on my daily driver i've been stripping the last usable bits off the old shell. And last saturday it was finally taken away. Bizarrely I was sad to see it go.
Top tip if you ever have to drag a shell out of a garage - 2 wooden handrails that you buy with decking in b&q or the like (cos one side is curved), throw them under the shell and drop it on top, slide the buggr out like it was a sledge. No problem.

No Steve, didn't get the email. strange cos gmail will usually take up to 10meg. or is that just sending? hmm.
there'll be a load of things to check now. Must get my vagcom cable back and see if I can install the full version. Should give me some clues (code 147762738 - ratchet spanner in gearbox
)

Excellent ......That was not to bad considering the wiring at the back of the IM ....would not worry about the smoke from the wastegate as the heat will expand joins and burn off all the crap that has been on it ......Get some water in her now so the MFTS can read water/engine temp for ECU ..Did you get that 3B engine manual i emailed you?....firing order there
Need to double check the vacuum hose the third one we were looking for as well
The 2 leads that were the same were 4 and 5 i think so that is easy to swap over to see if that changes anything with running
Cheers
