just looking at the pictures again. that must be some camera steve cos you can't see the inch of crap across the whole thing. It actually looks pretty shiny. In actual fact there's a shed load of washing, clay barring, colour restoring, polishing and waxing to be done. although when I get to that bit i'll be chuffed to be doing it

Standard brakes are rubbish at best, might just be stuff on the discs give it a while to clear.

They should swap over from what I know. I'll have to have a look at etka when i'm home next.

I did the clutch first, then the 4 corners. all seemed to go well enough. The brakes just don't feel great though. not spongy or anything. just a bit crap.

The shell came from sal originally. i'll need to see him for a couple of bits and bobs I think. the cunning plan of swapping my larger glovebox for terrybullwon's smaller glovebox didn't go according to plan. the bracketery seems to be different and he wasn't able to fit it. maybe the whole dash is slightly different? Hope I can get a small glovebox to fit in there cos I have the A/C blower (bulkier) behind and really don't fancy pulling the whole dash out again.

still... it doesn't scare me like moving an engine does

cheers lads. and cheers for taking some pictures Steve. i've been a bit thick and not brought a camera for quite a while. hasn't been much to photograph in a while though.
after i last posted I went back down and got the aerial in (man that's awkward) and got the boot carpets etc in, then got the rubber tailgate seal on. and in front the stalks etc with the wheel properly on. amazing how long the little things take but each thing makes a difference. I even flicked the lights on, backed it out of the garage and took it a quick blast down past the row of lockups and back. Didn't get it out of 2nd but no matter. Still put a silly big smile on my face. brakes are kinda crap though. I'll need to pull them apart and see what's what.
i'm happy as a mother fungler right now. shame 5 days of work is in between me and more tinkering.
what I need now is the plastic bit that sits between the rear lights and the rubber seal. it's a long black strip of ridged plastic. my old one was well broken in half (along with most of the ar se end of course).
oooh yeah.. gots me a driving s2. get down...

firstly - my name's noel and i'm an idiot. the 3 pin plug was for... the fan! haha. Don't know how I missed it when I was putting the radiator in but I didn't see it from above because of the ABS unit.

secondly - i drove my friggin s2 today! ahahahahahahaha. ok, i just drove it out of the garage and let it run for a bit and then parked it back in again but man i'm stoked. steve knicghtriders4 was again on hand to give me some pointers with the various plugs and cables for the lights. cheers matey.

right - i'm off again to keep putting bits back where they belong.

woohoo! someone who knows what he's doing! aye that'd be great mate. finished bleeding the brakes this morning but I think I was supposed to take the air supply off sooner cos the brake fluid tank is now full to the brim. i'll need to take a wheel off again and bleed out the excess. doh! this is what happens when you panic and do things quickly cos your missus wants to go into town and leave the baby with the doofus.
