almost forgot, Glasgow INTL or Prestwick Airport is fine as well, I can pick up from either...Edinburgh is a bit of a trek, but if it's all you can get, then cool.

Ok dude, I have a few things to do in the morning, and need to see what's happening with my mum, but count me in (dont tell Susie yet)

Oh and if anyone needs picked up from the Airport just drop me a PM, and I will come pick you up, so that our host can concentrate entertaining and keeping the BBQ going...In turn it will keep me away from fourcircle's missus, and my chat of his S2 not being ready till this time next year

And Noel....Those calipers I was telling you about....I only might have freakin won them oh and to them to Susie... Otherwise I will be sleeping in the garage...

Either way, I know what you mean, it's easier to recall what you removed rather than trying to use photos as a reference for parts you didn't touch.

If you drop me a PM nearer the time to remind me that would be great .
haha. I'm only joking mate. your labels have proper technical terms on them, unlike mine. Think some of the photos are OK and a couple are a bit blurry. Regardless of labels I was hoping you'd be able to join me in my epic engine swap. With enough learned minds what could possibly go wrong?
what you up to this Sunday morning by the way?

word of my missus' authentic russian shashlik kebabs has traveled far I see if the masses are making their way north.

i'm honestly humbled by the effort many of you make to help me. If any of you make it here I'll feed and water you until you beg me to stop.

Ian - are you in Glasgow for the weekend or just passing through the airport on some kind of adventure?

Bry - If you have a bit of time sunday it would be great to meet you. I can't do Saturday cos I'm looking after my son while my missus gets some manner of marathon hair cut. Are you driving or can I pick you up somewhere?

I'll see if Rob or Steve fancy nipping down to say hello too.

    cheers lads. you collectively rock

Right - who's up for one of those Garage meets that I see so many posts about?
Glasgow, Sat 29th September. If there's any chance at all of a day without rain i'll drag a BBQ down and the missus will supply all who appear with as much cow as you can handle. and drinks. If you're not in front of a wheel on the way home i'll also supply you with beer... although possibly after the engine is in. I don't fancy any of those moments when I hear someone go "oh buggr. Was that expensive?"

It's a bit far away but i'm away from 12th to 26th of September and have a work think that ruins the weekend at the end of the month.

    Anybody up for it?

absolutely mate. it takes a bit longer, which does lead to more strain with the wife, but i'm learning so much. Rob was great when he was down but I do have a fear that I will be lost without him putting those bits back in that he took off. (that's Rob roped into the garage meet for sure)

regarding space - wish I had some. hence me having 2 council lockups 200 yards apart.

I must come down for a day looks so much fun ..when are you intending taking the engine/gearbox out?

    Cheers

    Steve
erm.. aye, that's the chap. too late though. I hoofed the pair out. 2nd one was quite easy. oops. I'm not putting them on the new shell though. they're going down to sal with the other bits that were part of the deal.

Funny you should mention coming down. I'm intending on taking the engine & gearbox very soon, then carefully moving any bits of wiring to the new shell (few bits were burnt in an engine fire). I'll take the gearbox off (going to sal) and i'll be ready to get the engine and bits into the new car.
Which brings me nicely to the suggestion of a garage meet (roughly translates as a day at my lockup with a load of burgers/sandwiches and drink courtesy of my missus)
Would you be up for that? I'll work out the date in a second.
