  • My MD357 is off to TDi on Tuesday for some fettling.
    Swapping to the larger .82 hotside so will be same spec as Darren's but will be adding a billet comp wheel too

    • That will be rather noice!

      Any reason you are upgrading to billet? I know it will be better but the turbo is meant to be brutal as is!

        • it was cheap as I'm getting the seals replaced and it rebalanced anyway it would have been stupid not to.

              • Looks very nice. What water/oil fittings does it use?

                • Oil feed is M11 I think, drain is a flange type.
                  Water are M14 I think need to double check them all.
                  Going to mount it up on my dummy block and head and start working out the plumbing for it. Going to try and modify / adapt some of the OEM bits to work

                      If Garrett CHRA then M14x1.5
                      You can get oem drain line to work. Oil feed, tap the oil filter housing for m12 x 1.5 to 4an male union.

                        I have a couple spare sets of OEM turbo hoses so I can chop bits off as required to lash something together.

                              • I'm not sure, its a mongrel turbo
                                DJones dyno'd 487 on his MD357 without the billet wheel, but with meth.
                                Not sure I'll use meth yet, if I do I probably won't map for it. If I can get 450-480 with good response I will be happy.
                                I think the turbo may do 500 with the right setup. I'll probably set it all up on my coupe and get it all 100% before I build the S2. Need to save up for paint
