Wow I have missed a lot, last time I saw this thread you had only just taken the old engine out. Its looking fantastic wish I had put that much attention to detail when I did mine! Looking forward to seeing it at ADI... if mines back on the road by then haha.

Almost done now...

Finished my centre section. Decided to man up and go single box
It was quite a job due to the narrow tunnel on the cq20v which only built for a short 01A and small single cat. I have left room to add a second 12" box if required in the stock position.




I wanted to maximise ground clearance, I really don't like a low hanging system... so I probably used about 10 more joints than most systems I've seen. I guess the pros can't charge the money for the time it would take to do.




Tucks up there pretty nicely, I'm going to use some pretty stiff mounts so it doesn't move round too much as I only have around 20mm clearance to the tunnel behind the gearbox



Much nicer fit than the Scorpion box I had before where the tailpipes stuck out about 4 feet




Still need to finish making the mounts, I'm adding two to try and cut down on resonance - one off the tunnel brace bracket and one off the prop centre bearing bracket...



Like a **** I managed to loose the bonnet pull cable sleeves, and found out they are NLA. Oh well they wer rusty anyway... So I made some out of Delrin:




Spent a couple hours today lining up all the panels & refitting the front end.






Pretty much done now, few just a couple jobs left to do - make a spacer bracket for my single single stage PAS pump, and make up the spacer/trigger wheel for the drivehaft & speed sensor.... then should be MOT time

Looking and sounding good! I don't think you'll regret going single box, I only have a very small centre silencer and I'm not convinced it's doing a lot.
