The 0A3 is 28mm longer than the 01E. The output flange is the same, so the prop was simply cut, re-welded & re-balanced. It was around £100 if I remember correctly.

New Behr MFTS (3rd one in 3 weeks )
New old stock A4 "H" suffix climate control unit (random ebay bargain!)
B6 gear shifter sound deadener.

Also en route:
New fuel pressure reg
Engine oil
Gearbox oil
Diff oil
Custom floor mats

Some stuff is madly expensive, and oil/consumables add up quick.

At least with a new MAF/sensors etc you know it is 100% (except the MFTS, I am just going for no red flash )

Audi Tradition for the genuine MAF.
I have a MFTS here that has covered 150 miles. No false autocheck warning but the temp gauge is too sensitive, i.e. reads just above 50 on cruise and about 105 when the fans kick in. Yours FOC if you want mate

How often do you shop on Audi Tradition? I remember trying to log in to the world's slowest website a while after ordering my quattro script cloth and it refused to accept my password or indeed send an email to reset it If I ever need to buy something only Audi Tradition has I'm up shi* creek!

Yes it is the worlds worst e-commerce experience. I am on my 3rd attempt to register. It is really awful. No real business could get away with an interface that poor.

What's the story with the gear lever silencer then? Does it get rid of the 6 speed straight cut chatter??

Most of the gear noise I can hear on mine seems to come up through the centre console. There is only really the thin plastic shell of the linkage housing and a sheet of leather to attenuate the noise! So I spotted this item fitted to the B6/B7 cars I figured it wasn't expensive so i'd try one. It's a layer of pretty heavy rubber plastic composite and some dense foam. I'll get some better pics of it and let you know how it goes

Woot! Dog rough idle / stalling issue is sorted - fuel pressure reg was duff.
Of course it had to the £25 part I bought to fix it, not the £250 one
Oh well at least now I have a new MAF and a good spare.
