I see. No, I do not have a need for something like that in the area where I live. The roads are in good condition and it snows about once every three years.
An incredible project. I have looked at all 79 pages. In Germany it is already difficult to get good RS2 parts in the U.S. probably many times more difficult.
Keep it up! Very very great respect ! !

If you are not breaking parts, you're not going fast enough...
Been busy with work but was able to bring back a few items while on my two week Amsterdam business trip. The Audi Centrum Amsterdam was a 15 minute walk from my hotel.
One of the items that I brought home was an new left side RS2 engine mount. This is one of the new production parts from Audi Tradition that I had originally tried to buy a couple of years ago but it had gone NLA. Happy to get my hands on one. I had been filling the gap with a AAN engine mount that was on the shelf in my garage up until this weekend when I was able to go out and install the RS2 mount. Easy stuff with a floor jack under the motor. I'm kicking myself for not snapping a couple of pics of the mount before I installed it. I feel guilty for not providing more info on these. I'm probably going to pull it and get pics.
Before I left for Amsterdam I spoke with the local glass guy who came out to eyeball my RS2. I got a price of around 500USD to install a new windscreen and reinstall the 3 rear glasses. I didn't think that was too bad. I've got to find some time to have him come out and do the deal. So soon.
Erherm...get your finger out will you Tom...this should be done and on the road by now buddy just pmd you
Hey Mr. Al. Long time no talk eh? Yeah, I hear you. Work is keeping me busy ATM. Just spent the last week in Amsterdam.....again. hehe. You did remind me that I need to get back on it. I must move my RS2 back over to the lift so I can get back to work on the drivetrain. I used to be able to push it around by myself, but since the engine/gearbox install I need to have a friend over to help. I need to call the glass guys too

I don't have a pic of the S2 hub, only the RS2. Sorry.
We're stealing Mr.Saltino to our European side....
Amsterdam Le Mans Italy (Veneto to be precise....) it seems like perhaps due to his Italian roots and fun with The Scots Braves the boy does enjoy beeing around here!
Tom ship back that nice Car where it belongs so I can also play with it!!!
Stefano, taking the car back to Europe sure would make it easier for me to drive it the way it was intended. I'm thinking Passo Stelvio or Bernina.
Over the weekend I went out behind the garage and pulled up the other fuel tank that I had. The tank that I thought I wanted to use had turned out to be in worse shape than I had thought. After comparing both side-by-side I decided to go with the this one. It did not have rust around the filler neck opening and it had more decent looking fuel lines/fittings. So several years of being basically discarded under the deck of my garage it needed to be cleaned up and made worthy to be installed in the RS2. It had been sitting on its side, but some water had made its way inside via a cracked lid. I emptied the water and wiped out as much as I could reach. Removed the basket, which was missing the tabs that hold the pump down, and sender. I found that the basket from the old tank had a good basket so it will be installed in the better tank. The lines inside that run out to the edges had been cut....who know why. I was able to pull the complete inner lines from the other tank and will install them in the tank the I will be installing once I get it good and dry inside.
I had to cut off that bleepin' hex head screw that holds the filter. Rusted solid.
A few before and after pictures of Operation Tankenstein.
UsingOil Eater in a spray bottle and a little elbow grease she ended up nice and clean. Now safe inside the garage with the lid off to dry.
