No it goes back into the downpipe just before it goes under the driveshaft.

Jay did the intercooler. I had the rest done by a mate closer to home who used to work for m-sport.

Tanks will sit equally in the boot one on each side:

So that brings everything upto date. I am very happy with all the welding done, but I have decided the alloy bits could do with blasting to remove the oxidisation and give them more of a matt finish. I have also ordered a sheet of 5mm alloy plate which is going to make up a sump guard as the front edge of the sump looks very vunerable. It will also stregthen up the front end by tieing the subframe into the front bar under the intercooler. It should give worry free driving when giving it some stick and also make jacking the front up very easy to get it onto the sill stands.

    Cheers guys!

I have been working away on it steadily slowly knocking the jobs off the list.

Took a while to get the intercooler mounted as its such a bloody big thing. I made a new bar which comes down from the chassis legs to underneath the intercooler. As well as holding the intercooler its going to hold the front of the sump guard.

Made it so that the metal holding the intercooler is hidden behind the bumper.

Once it was mounted I made up the 3" boost pipes:

Sent them away with a load of other parts I had been making to be tig welded. whilst I was waiting for the welding I got some stainless ties for the driveshafts, a job I have been putting off for a while:

This week I picked everything up from welding. First the exhaust:

    See through silencers!

Seriously tight with the 3.5" downpipe and seperate wastegate pipe:

Boost pipes with tial blow off valve:

Bleed nuts welded into the 90 degree water pipe bends that come through the front bulkhead into the engine bay:

Had to have the pro alloy swirl pot cut up so I could get the twin pumps joined directly onto it due to lack of space to get everything in the boot:

-12 welded onto the bottom of the dry sump tank so the oil can be dropped out through the floor rather than removing the tank.

Water header and oil catch tank that I made up and had welded with all the rest:

-12 stainless fitting welded onto the 90 degree bend in the boot for the header tank to drop into:

Vacuum in the crankcase is good, less resistance to the reciprocating components = better throttle response and more hp.

    This thread just gets better....

Most of the technical stuff is way over my head - but just have to keep reading it!!

You get what you pay for I suppose, its just not that nice. In the future I am going to swap onto an AP or Tilton floor mounted one.

As for the dry sump stuff we seem to have collected a lot of good information. Interesting to hear that some cars are using -12 on the lines. I will give it a go and swap onto -16 if its not working out.

As for the crankcase pressure I am going to hook up a pressure gauge to see whats happening. If the crankcase goes back into vacume its going to pull all the crap back in from the catch tank? I do have a one way valve with the pace kit so it can let pressure out but not pull anything back in.
