it would be interesting enough to know if this fiberglass genious could make more of such parts, for example,rs2 parts, fenders etc.how much is it usually the cost for such a thing?

Sorry to hear that various suppliers are holding up your progress!

Sounds like you can make good progress now though!

Hi chaps, sorry for not updating you for a while. Most things had come to a standstill for a while because I was waiting for bits from a known supplier....

However I have had my refund and have now ordered my bits direct from 034 so hopefully will not have to wait too long.

SteveT63 picked up a SACHS Performance friction plate for me 2 weeks ago to go with the pressure plate and thrust bearing I have.

I have received my water pump and an Audi sport quattro boot sticker from Aelrad.

The body shop have finally finished repairing the front wings for me and look amazing.

Johnny, Steve, Ash and myself have spent untold amount of hours cleaning waxoil and seam sealer from the underside of the car and I have almost finished one rear tub. (just waiting for the rear wings to come back.

I have found a local fiberglass genius to copy a pair of rear wings I have borrowed and he assures me that they will be ready in 2 weeks time.

And again for morale and inspiration I have bought myself a 1/18th scale Autoart Audi sport quattro in Red. (IN-YJ 54)

    Tonight we spitroasted the audi.

I have now got a spitroast so it will make life a little easier for the welding...

And it allows me to get off all the sticky stuff from underneath....

    Just an update

Welding and lots of it. The entire front end is now seem welded. I have nearly finished the seat box and tunnel. I have fitted one cill and am planning to fit the other one tomorrow. I need some more steel to be able to tub the rear arches. As far as anything else I am still awaiting a list of parts that have been paid for and have not landed yet....

    ARP main studs
    Engine mounts
    Diff mounts
    Clutch friction plate
    034 Front damper
    wishbone bushes
Another set of main bearings as the last set I had were garbage.

And when the damper and clutch land I have still got to wait as I want to send everything off to bassetdown for balancing. another 10 days.....

Peter Burgess has still got hold of my head and manifolds for gas flowing. They have had them for 2 weeks and still no sign of them landing soon.

so I have not got any shiny nice bits to play with and look at inbetween the thankless task of welding.

And to top off my weekend.........

Some Hayhole has keyed my new shape Range Rover across the tailgate so that's another £300 repair bill

The sills look excellent! Did you just get the shape from the arches or did you have a template?

I think i am going to cut my original sills off and replace them totally, as they look a bit shagged. I do like your idea though!

    Home made cills......

@ Sal & Jamil they ended up being £60 a pair... they just slot over the original cill so all the strength is still there, let me know if you want a set....

I can't find any detailed info on the net of how to fit sport quattro wings so when I'm finished I will post another thread of the way I will do mine.
i used bonding agent and rivets
