I can't believe it, my door card "leather" has started to come off in the same way, must be an age related thing..

I knew that would get at least one person, some folks might even think that it looks nice, I don't however.. Removed the wire this morning and the covering stayed put, job done it won't be coming off again!

Off to pick up the tracking gauges this afternoon so I can spend all weekend getting it go in a straight line without fighting itself, it's laborious setting up track and camber without swivel plates and a four poster ramp but it can be done. I've ordered a selection of products from Frosts to tackle the underside and taken a gamble on a POR caliper painting kit. Going to book an MOT next week

I'm also going to have to get the car live mapped fairly soon, I've been in touch with PRJ and due to my 'concoction' as he put it he can't supply a generic map. His advice was live mapping or standalone, I want to retain Motronic so standalone is out. The only people I can think of that offer live maps for our cars are Automark and MRC and I don't the later are really that interested in stuff this old anymore. Ideally I'd like Dimitri to do it but I don't think he's going to be in the UK that soon

      Anyone got any other suggestions?

That should be seen as a plus point, good drive up there, even better on the way back

The floor pan has lots of patches of surface rust where the underseal has been damaged over years a lot of it by remedial mechanics with jacks, so I want to deal with it now and not have to worry about welding years down the line. I've already done a lot of the prep so another good day on it would see it and the fuel lines protected for the foreseeable future.
            .
Ive been working my way along the bottom of the car for the last year doing a section at a time to tidy it up too. More preventative than anything.

You picked up that tidy S2 front bumper in Ragusa green but I really can't remember exactly when, I know it was cold so I guess it must have been winter time.

Yeah, with the corrosion it's a case of taking preventative action now so I don't have to worry in future, thought I may as well tackle it in one hit now whilst the car is off the road and I don't have to rush it.

AndyP & Alex, I've only heard good things about Automark and I'm not adverse to a long drive. My only concern is what do I do about fitting the RS2 injectors and 7A FPR? I don't really want to drive 200 miles with the fueling all to **** and I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate me turning up and doing it there. Suppose I could fit them, see what it's doing with the Zeitronix unit and see if it's safe to potter along off boost to get there.

Spent all day yesterday getting the track and camber set as close as I can with the equipment I have, did everything to a tolerance of about 10 minutes so it should be pretty close to right. Also made an adjustment to the rear ride height as the back end sit's too low with S2 Coupe H&R's IMO and the problem is amplified on my car due to the solid front top mounts. A rummage through my parts produced a pair of type 85 front upper spring plates which are about an inch taller than the B3 items. Looks to have worked a treat as the gap between tyre and arch is now the same as front, proof will be in how it feels on the road.

Here's the high tech stuff I used You can also just about see the ride height looks better on the back

Here's a spot of what I'm dealing with underneath.

Got the Zeitronix unit wired up properly and working today, made a loom out of old S2 connectors and wires. I can finish putting the final bits of the interior back in now.

Got a few more things sorted on the old girl, the ABS light now goes out and stays out, was a misaligned sensor and the oil temp gauge now works properly, was a corroded earth terminal. Fitted my new door card seals and the last few bits of the interior like the glove box and sill trims ect, gave her a wash and it seems dry inside afterwards so fingers crossed. I spent most the weekend plumbing the waste gate back into the down pipe, really pleased with how it turned out and it's much more pleasant to drive now, the 3" system I built sounds great probably thanks to the Jetex back box. Forgot to take any photos of the down pipe, to busy making sure I didn't muck it up but I'll pop the air box off and add some to the thread .

Today I fitted the wheel studs and thought I'd see what it looks like with my 17" wheels on, the wheels are 7" so I've fitted 215/45/17 Toyo R1R's instead of the 205/45/17 T1R's which were way too small. Weighed a wheel and tyre, 19 kg's dead which I didn't think was too bad. Didn't really get a chance to try them out properly but the set up in general feels very good now I've done the wheel alignment to the best of my ability with string and some basic toe gauges. I'm putting the 16"'s back on tomorrow, they can stay on till I've had the car set up properly as I don't want to cause any uneven wear to my new tyres.

Also spent a long time sorting out the bumper and head light alignment, pretty happy with it now, the one bonnet catch needs a slight tweek still.

I was so happy with how it felt today I've booked an MOT for Wednesday

Cheers guys MOT this afternoon at 3.30, really want to get the pin swap done for the ellipsoids before I go otherwise I'm going to have to disconnect the autocheck, technically it's warning light and I'm under the impression any fitted warning lights now have to work so don't want to risk it. ATM it's convinced I have a bulb out but everything works, I set up the beams up as best I could yesterday and know the ellipsoids will pass as they are but would rather sort it.

Alex, yes mate just got the Jetex back box with 3" all the way from the turbo, sounds good, it's loudish but not over the top, very deep basey note. In a car with sound insulation it would probably be quite civilized.

Anyway here's the problem with the indicator connector block, where do I put the thick yellow/green (presume earth) wire in position 1? I suppose I could spend a couple of hours baffling myself with a mulitimeter and work it out, however by my own admission I'm rubbish with electrics and would rather advice from someone who's BTDT.

I'll post up another thread as well so more people will see it.
