My 3B to RS2 project

    How did you install the 3B distributor under the RS2
    inlet manifold ? A spacer between head and IM ?
    2 gaskets and spacer ?

    Why not to build the RS2 conversion also
    with full ecu spex and direct ignition.
    Full elctronic instructions in egroups Kruemmer
    pages . Budget system is to use Volvo coils
    with end stages in them and direct ignition ecu
    with corect software and about 25 steps
    conversion to original 3B ecu wiring cable connector.

          I came across a excel program online that has all the detains for this.. But I seemingly can't find the site anymore in my links.

            There is a small amount of metal to remove to fit the dissy under the EM, and a little bit of the dissy cap. Also you have to move the ground wires around a little. No spacers except the one on the throttle body to allow me to use the stock hose and tube.

            Hey it feels quick enough to me right now but who knows what I will do in the future

                  If I accelerate hard and change up a gear I have no boost in the higher gear, I have to back off and wait, is this a mapping thing? I'm obviously trying not to use lots of WOT but sometimes when I'm overtaking.. ;-)

                    Hello I am new in here , I got to know doug rs2 on rs246.
                    I have registered few day ago but wanted to go thru all or near all posts to get to know you all.
                    I have rs2 wich I got from sws and i have been workin on it for 1 year, it was working fine till i've washed the engine but i dont want to be boring about rs2, I just wated to say what a nice moto you got newsh, I also have been buying bits to do coversion on my aby s2 coupe. I think is alot more fun to get s2 to rs2 or more spec then rs2 it self not only cos weght but looks. Hope to start my aby to rs2 conversion next year so i'll be watching you closely.Thx Rob

                        Hi robo - you will want to come to the Audi Internationl thing at Castle Combe in September - to see ewsh's car and a fe wothers - I guarrantee not 1 out of the 30(hopefully) S2s there will be the same. And I think John's(Newsh) will be a good example of an RS2 spec'd S2.

                              A couple of updates on the car as its going really well lately. I finally fitted the Samco MAF-Turbo hose a month or two ago and the strange and unpredictable high boost cutout behaviour has stopped and she is going like a train, no probs with full throttle at all and no need to back off to get good drive. Since there appears to be nothing at all wrong with the original hose I can only think that Mihnea was correct when he said that perhaps the sucktion from the RS2 turbo at full chat, was collapsing the hose and starving the motor of air, incredible but all I can say is its running great, doubly so in the last few days after fitting the RS2 airbox. This makes slightly less noise, it seems on accelleration but more as the DV opens, which is nice, and the motor pulls better and revs out more cleanly, mind you the car needs a lot of road to rev it out through the gears these days cant imagine what its like to drive one of these with a really big turbo.. (quite like to fid out though.. )

                              I've included some pics of the 2 airboxes for posterity, and to try and show how tight the hose was to fit with the RS2 intercooler, it would probably be worth getting the ABY hose and moving the DV into the later position. Also a pic to show that Bling does not stay bling forever, I've got some polishing and re-painting to do!
