Nice to get a simple fix. Annoying as you often assume recently fitted new parts are good and dont think to check them.
Was it a new Kayser one?
Yes, Kayser DV, I think I fitted it backwards though which is weird cos I know which way round they're suposed to go Maybe I decided to try it backwards and forgot
More tidying and a try of a cone filter, sheesh it's loud! I know I'm goiing to get heat soak pretty quick but I wanted to hear the turbo to see if I could hear it surging and I think I can if I go over about 1 Bar before 3000 RPM or so.
Cone sounds like a massive boost leak, I even tested it to be sure it wasn't.
Surging I think is a sort of a chuffling sound along with a feeling of holding back slightly, back off and it goes cleanly, you can also hear the N75 really loud, really fast tf tf tf tf tf noise once it gets properly on boost. The dump valve is cool but just way too un-stealthy, feels like everone's looking at you just driving down the road, has to end badly a switch mounted in the cabin would be cool
This car has been doing my head in for the last week or so. It's been knocking like a bustard but inconsistant and sometimes really misfiring badly.
I really suspected something to do with the 5 coil conversion as that has been the main change recently, either that or a dodgy injector. I've also had the exhaust off to check for blockages and changed the plugs and was about to change the coilpacks and injectors when I happened to find this..
Injector 1 and 4 connector pin housings
I think this thing might have to go too as Dmitri says it's too small..
Plugs were checked, I swapped these out for the Bosches, no change..
It's a little sport cat that was in the exhaust I bought from Keith, used to be on Stevieyid's car, I've never really thought about it to be fair but it's probably not up to 400 odd BHP.
I'm going to change the rest of the connectors tomorrow and look at re-sleeving the wires too
What did you do to change them john? Just buy the plugs and push the pins back into fresh housings?
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...
What did you do to change them john? Just buy the plugs and push the pins back into fresh housings?
Yes, I've got a loom from a B5 car that I was given with loads of plugs on it, I just took some housings from that and slid the original pins into them and clicked them back ito the plug bodies.
