Propably too much pressure in the tyres... Got info that cold pressure should be something like 1.5bar, hot 2bar. I had medium temp pressure 2.5bar.

too bad you took mr. murphy with you ... next time loose the *******

looking at first two laps my thought was - you could drive 95% of the track in 3rd gear
I'll be better next time, I see the car/engine runs very good with this setup
except the front suspension, obvious in 4th picture
but you already know what's the problem with those ladies ... it'll raise the *** in the corners whatever you do

Forgot to take any vids before this vid of the last driving for the day. Started to rain, had almost fully worn 19" street tyres in front, slicks in rear, strange track that I never learn how to drive, bad driver... almost everything wrong.

Quite a hard day... 260km trip to the track, and about in the half way my friend calls me and says your car is smoking heavily, soon my oil presure starts to stutter. Directly stop the car and looking for any cause, the whole bottom of the car is covered in oil. Fill up oil and we start the car and the oil filter starts to spray oil. My boost pipe is going just beside the filter and have make little contact with it, and ther was a crack in it. Luckily there was a car parts chop close by and they have filters, thanks to JuizeR for driving to the store. Just change it and filled oil and we were ready to move on.
Then finally on track pits, they make the dB noise measuring(95dB limit). My car 99dB, my friends car 100dB... No track driving today guys. This sucked!!! What now..?
We where quite depressed at the moment of what to do, so we had a meal and made up a plan.
Found some needed parts and luckily I did take the "madonna tips" with me(for some strange reason
), drilled them full of holes, found some steel wool from a local shop and made "super traps" for me. And for my friend we mounted an 3" external muffler on the end tip. My friend got 92dB and I got 95/96dB and the guy who checked these was a nice guy, so we where finally ready to go on track.
The slick tyres had really sick grip, really feeled that someting is riping apart soon. But soon I did blow a tyre.
Other issues... front suspension must be harder(now 750lbs springs), maybe 900lbs? Intake temps was close to 80C degrees, but I forgot to remove the license plate. Need to loos weight of the car(and driver
), car weight was 1745kg with maybe 50-60 liters of fuel. Other wise it worked good. The brakes was superb, they just started to work better and better when they got some heat.
Will add some photos soon.Last edited by Thuppu; 19 July 2015, 10:29.Leave a comment:

Last minute update before track day. Couldn't fit the bucket seats yet, so only the belts have to do now...

i use also a original fuel filter in a Dash8 line behind my two 044....so i think it is better to change the filter every season...

Did change the fuel filters today. Tighten everything up, started the car and look if anything is leaking. [shock!] Fuel is spraying from a weld on the surgetank. So I had to drain it and flush it with water, and weld it. Luckily I noticed it now.

I did also cut open the old fuel filters to see in what shape they where. Something like 3 years with e85 and standard filters. Have heard they should not hold ethanol... There was nothing wrong with them, just quite much black sooth, so it was good to change them.
