    Hello!

Bought my third wreck for my birthday, and the only reason i could afford it it is because it is a non starter.

now i need every piece of advice i can get to make it a starter

It is a spark problem, here is a video about what the spars do wrong:

they are random and very slow. any BTDT?

    Thanx!

Nice looking early Quattro, maybe the wrong place on here as its mainly 20vt guys, look on Quattro forum for better results
There is a very good guide to what you need to do on isham research,Phil Paynes(rip)site,to be fair if you have a weak spark they usually run, probably down to the CIS injection
I have seen this on classic Audi also

Make sure the correct rotor arm is fitted...it has a 'Wide tip 'Timing is dealt with by the ECU non adjustable. Distributors can still cause a lot of problems though.I hate to say this but I would change the crank pulley, timing belt ,water pump and tensioner ASAP the crank bolt should be tightened to 450NM and I'll be suprised if yours is anywhere near that figure - special tool 2084 will be required

cooperquattro: we checked all the engine wiring and it is ok. also redone all grounds. by removing the fuel pump noticed it was clogged with rust. will solve that, but the spark is still the main issue.

Can you provide the voltage reading when cranking at the coil? There is a remote Possibility that the flywheel pin may be missing.

checked the flywheel and the pin is there

                        maybe the sensor?

Coils rarely fail...Can you provide the voltage readings to determine whats occuring...It may help to establish what may be going on here...my thoughts are that the flywheel pin is missing and the ECU is therefore not receiving the relevant signal - hence the spark problems.

the pin is there, seen it with my eyes, but maybe the sensor for it is not working as it should?

do you have a part number for it, i would like to check if i can get a spare one...

meanwhile some more pics of it

it would be nice to know what options it had stock if anyone can tell me from the codes:

and since on of the tyres was leaking, i needed to change it to push it around, and there was only one set of 5x112 wheels available...
