You need a custom headgasket and the cilinder walls loose the stability

Why not go for 82.5 or 83 to get more cc?

So block is bored, honed, cleaned and painted.

Had to bore to 81,5mm pistons, but rebuild is progressing nicely now. Ended up getting Woesnerr pistons from CS-parts.de

Also had my local hose specialist make a new return hose for the bomb and steering rack. It was leaking multiple placed. Ended in 70 euro compared to 200+ euro at Audi.

Next step is to machine the 7A head so it can be fitted to the block.

Does anybody know where the diamond washer is located at the crank pulley?

Oh yeah will have a Tommis Billet crank pulley for sale.

To be honest plan was to get a 7A head and start out from that. All spark plug holes have cracks

In the top photo it also goes through to the valve seat as well? But I guess that can be replaced

Remove the spark plugs and if the cracks go past three threads, it's out of spec (if my memory serves correct).

    Cracks in head

So had a look at the head today after the engine was out.

Some not so nice cracks, or what do people say?

This does not seem to bad:

    Engine out job

So started to pull the engine out today.

Good it took for ever, there where so many bolts that either snapped or had to be cut.

So pictures of the work in progress:

    Turbo is off

    Intake manifold comes off

    The pile is growing:

    Engines is coming out

    Free and hanging

Lots of room to work in the engine bay
