Doug/Mark, have either of you got a pic of your breather pipe connection on the block, did you use a jic connector for that?

        cheers

I kept the rubber hose that is down there. I got a 30mm diameter X20mm aluminium cylinder. I drilled an tapped that lump of metal and used a JIC to 1/4BSP adapter (IIRC). I used a jubilee clip to hold that lump of metal in the rubber hose - it won't fall in the block as it sits on the metal pipe coming off the block.

          2 minutes and I'll have a picture.

            Martin,
you just reminded me I was suppose to post this the other day for Doug. I will do this when I get a chance to take a pic, unless Doug beats me to it .
Yep, I used a JIC connection to a threaded piece of metal clamped within the standard short piece of rubber hose connected to the metal pipe from the block.
In the future I will weld a steel JIC weld nipple to this pipe for a more secure connection.

Hard to see in the pic - but you should get the idea.

It is a very good connection - I don't think it needs to be any better.

And the connection to the cam cover. I have removed the top metal breather pipe that usually sticks out the back of the cam cover.

It is just a fancy jubilee clip holding it onto the original pipe.

Mihnea - does this mean I will be pumping approximatly 20% more fuel in if I use my current map? (which I will have to - to drive 450miles to get it remapped)

Doug, yes but if the lambda regulation on your current chips is correctly done, this shouldn't yield a much higher fuel use than before, maybe 5% more? are you getting any fault codes with VAG-COM already or not? If not it means the ECU has adapted itself to the injectors and is able to regulate the amount of supplied fuel by the means of the oxygen sensor's feedback...

                      Cheers

Not started the car since putting them in Mihnea.

I will hopefully start it tonight and monitor it with vag-com.

If I log the duty cycle of the injectors should I see a big adjustment?

                          Cheers

                              For Greg

Heres a quick drawing of the pipe - If you are making one you might want to put a another 90degree bend on the end so you only need a straight silicon hose to teh maf - you will also want to size that to match the MAF - 80mm.

**the M6 bolts and threaded holes are actually M5**
