    Doug,

The bearing housing in your photo is at the wrong orientation, if you slacken off the bolts on the turbine and compressor housings you will be able to rotate all three parts (turbine scroll, bearing housing and compressor housing) in relation to each other. Ideally the oil inlet and especially the oil drain outlet must be vertical so that oil drains striaght out of the bearing housing after oiling the bearings.
You might have to do what I did to mine for the coolant entry and return pipes, I used threaded adaptors from Speedflow and connected these to JIC adaptors and steel braided hose 10mm ID. The feed is easy to hook up the outlet on the side of the block which is part of a core plug, I ended up cutting the stainless return pipe that goes behind the timing belt and connecting it with a clip.
I´d post a picture but I´m abroad in an internet cafe at the moment!

    Mark.

I got it rotated Mark - easy if you know you can just do that - I wasn't sure if loosening anything would of broke seals or knocked out any calibrations - - easy in the end.

I'm gettin a couple of adapters off Mihnea - hopefully have the car running by the end of the week. I'll try and use the standard metal coolant pipe - maybe heat it up and bend it or I can add a silicon hose in between to get it over the compressor housing. I couldn't work out what thread the KKK turbo coolant holes were.

Also waiting on a couple more hoses form SFS to make the intake path a bit neater - going to chop up the custom turbo intake pipe so it is larger diameter as well - no point in restricting the intake.

Are you home yet Mark - I'll send that pressure damper if you are.

**** hot work my man. That water feed pipe got 'adjusted' using some 'special tools'. Was gonna post about the way in which the turbo was lined up. LOL. Newbie.

Looks phat. That K27 housing is a monster. What thickness spacer did you have made? I have an 8mm one which im using, but i do have a CNC machined 10mm one if anyone needs one! Turbo inlet size is about 70mm yeah? Same as mine then. I bought an intake pipe from Dialynx. OK, but only had connection for dump valve and it was 80 sheets :eek2:

          What "special" tools? Hammer?

I got a 10mm spacer as my work had 10mm thick lumps of metal - I reckon you could make these yourself if you use a 10mm lump of aluminium.

I'm turning that metal intake pipe on it's side so that the intake isn't over the top. It means the dump valve is down underneath - sticking straight out of the turbo-intercooler hose.

Mihnea can get that metal intake pipe - the turbo has a rubber o-ring and a couple of grub screw to hold it in place.

Doug and Mark, what colour are your Coupes? They look realy good, a colour I should have chosen for mine, but it's too late now, paint has already been bought!

Mine is Blue Pearl Effect - looks that bright blue in my avatar is some light, can look a dull blue or even a purply colour.

Marks is different as it's the same colour as my old S2 - can't remember the colour - it looks black most of the time but is actually blue - Mark?

Please say you have not ordered tango orange Paint - again

Pearl Blue eh? Very nice colour. Did'nt choose Orange this time, my wife was'nt keen on the old one! Chose Metallic Black Pearl effect (a BMW X5 colour) with a coarse metallic flake. Not sure what pipe you are on about on your car, if it's the oil supply to the turbo and you're using a K26/27, what I did was groove the compressor housing, allowing the rigid part of the pipe to make firm contact with the turbo without straining. I spotted that mod on one of Dialynx's cars with the same set up. Hope this helps.

The oil line has the 10mm spacer - I used a gasket as the template for that.

The pipe that needs bent is the water feed that comes across the front of the engine - solid metal pipe all the way to the turbo.

Metallic black is a good colour - can't wait to see it in that colour with 20s

thats weird that dialynx did that. they were the ones who told me to use a spacer plate. I did think about doing the groove mod, but decided that i couldn't afford to buy a new turbo if i went too far Dont think the warranty would have covered that one.

Come on Doug, cant help but think you are taking too long doing this now. You have had that turbo for a while now. Stop posting and just build it!!

The spacer is a better idea, I guess if you got carried away with the grooving, you could end up staring the impeller in the face! :eek2:

Hmm, that rigid metal water pipe can be a pain, the rubber hose on the other side of the block goes hard, and when they let go, they are not very accessible, buried under the PAS pump. I guess you're replacing the rubber section with silicone hose, though it's probably best to have a braided item made up, that way there is more give in the water feed, not so rigid as the original.

There is no way I would even think of doing that groove :eek2:

Vagsport - BTDT with the sh1tty small section of hose the breaks up - it split on me That is definitely a hose that everyone should replace ASAP - Mines a 1995 , so if it went on mine, everyones will be ready to go, if it's never been replaced.

A bit of heat and a bend should get that metal pipe sorted for just now. I will probably replace most of the hoses with custom ones (like Marks) but I still need to get my head round all the hose fittings etc - another nosey at Marks will help as well
