So it's up and running. Just some small bits and then mot time. Then need to map it and get a track day done.
I have the big accusump connected with a manual valve on a cable that has a nob just in front of the gearstick and when it's pulled out to shut down the accusump it gets on the way of the gearstick so I shouldn't forget to activate the system.

was it not easier if you use an electric valve?audi coupe quattro b2 2.2 20vt project (573hp-626nm)

Kirkistown is my local track. Could be a month or so yet. Yea an electric valve would seem easier but unfortunately most electric valves are not straightforward at all. Basically they only flow properly in 1 direction so that makes them slow to refill or slow to feed the engine depending on how you connect them. The mechanical setup is so basic it can't go wrong which is a bonus.

Quattro passed the mot today first time! Now just need to tax it and get some miles in. Damm it's hot inside the car with weather like today and hot steel parts like bulkhead and floor.

how does the engine run? and what about the oil pressure?audi coupe quattro b2 2.2 20vt project (573hp-626nm)

Oil pressure is great and the car drives fine. Still only running wastgate pressure so maybe 350 hp? I want to get some driving done and then map it. Should be interesting to add 250bhp and see what it's like!
It's now taxed so I might take it a run for petrol tonight. Seems odd to be driving a car on the road I have had and dreamed about for 12 years...
Need to book the rolling road now too.

Got her taxed today. Went out and put some petrol in it and did about 60 miles. Going well and starting to get a feel for it a bit. Good oil pressure and the accumulator keeps the pressure very stable at over 4 bar from 2k rpm up. Brakes are good but tyres seem to need some heat before they grip or else it locks up easy. They are Yokohama tyres and CL rc8 pads. Took a run up the mountains near me and it sounds class bouncing off the mountains! It needs a rear LSD as round the s bends it spins the **** out of the inside rear wheel. Same out of roundabouts. But its probably keeping me safe as if it spun up both rear wheels it's likely to get away on me. It's just hard to know where the limits are so I'm a bit of a straight line hero.

Did a quick check over and have a loose front top mount that's knocking. Will get another one to replace it as it's been made wrong allowing the bearing to move too much.
Also the rear wheels are rubbing on heavy compression on a few bolts I put in to support the bumper which will be easy enough to sort out. It's now got 200 miles on it. And used about about 40 l of supper dooper.
Need to get some mapping done now to get it someplace close before going to the rolling road. I did fall in with a new rs6 and he headed out round a few cars. Quattro sat on his *** ok... He may not of been flat out like.

Mapping didn't go well. It made 420 bhp on 1.1 bar and when boost came up to 2 bar it made 450 bhp. Basically anything over 1.3 bar flat lines the power curve from 4.5 k rpm to 7.5k rpm. I tried removing and adding timing, removing the air filter and other simple things. Made no odds. ****ing weird. So something must reach its flow limit at 450 bhp. I will start into measuring exhaust back pressure and intercooler pressure drop another day. Inlet temperatures didn't get above 40 deg even at 2 bar boost with a Dyno cell temperature of 26 deg so the cooler seems to cool ok and the exhaust is a straight through 3 inch system with 1 big back box and a separate 2 inch system with silencer for the wastgate.
Only slight faulty thing we found was a slight blow out on the exhaust manifold but it's not that bad. Dam cars...

thats sad to hear des!
what diameter have your boost pipes?
did you calibrate the throttlebody in vems?
is the throttlebody complete open when you hit the accelerator pedal?
maybe you can post your vems file so we can see the settings.......audi coupe quattro b2 2.2 20vt project (573hp-626nm)

Yea it's an odd one. Throttle opens 100% and reads 100 in vems. Boost pipe into intercooler us short ably maybe 150mm of 2.5 inch. Outlet is 3 inch and is about 40mm long. Just couples from cooler straight to intake manifold.

I will post up the map but it's not to exciting as I was changing lots of things to trust and make a difference but nothing did.
