Oh Deer! (new bomb?)

This is clearly an epidemic. Where is best place to get accumulator. Mine has bleeped on start up since bought car but today while standing on brakes light went off. I've also started getting a grabbing sensation when reversing off drive first thing after start up.

Tripple bleeps, Hard pedal first thing in the morning and I have also noticed hard pedal when giving it some beans!

Mine would occasionally beep after startup and a lot of the time when I used to arrive home so pushing the brakes more and coming to a full stop.

I have noticed that the clutch has a somewhat better engagement and steering has a much better feel compared to before. Still a few little niggles here and there though

Mine always used to wait 30 seconds before the beeps. It was usually followed by the wife repeatedly asking " Why does it do that?" Very annoying.

You wont need a guide mate it is very simple to swap easier still on an ABY engined car. My brother, who is not much use at anything mecahnical changed mine in a hour with a couple of basic tools.

1. Get the help of a friend and about 3 litres of G004000
2. Take the pump feed hose off the reservoir and drain the reservoir.
3. Connect a length of hose to the now vacant nipple on the reservoir and feed into a bucket or large bottle.
4. Take a large funnel and connect to the feed hose to the pump.
5. Fill the funnel with clean new fluid.
6. Get your friend to start the car.
7. Keep filling the funnel until clean fluid comes out the reservoir into the bucket.
8. Then keep doing this for another 1 - 1.5 litres to flush all the old fluid out.
9. Refit everything, top up fluid.
10. bleed the system by turning the steering lock to lock a few times withe the engine running
11. Top up the fluid as necessary.

Good guide this, did it by myself earlier today by cable tying a funnel to the inlet manifold in the upright position with the pump feed securely attached. Filled the funnel with the old fluid I dropped out the res first as it was fairly clean, started the car through the drivers window, dashed to the front and poured a good 1.5 liters of nice new VAG 004000 in, then dashed back and shut it off before it could run dry. Topped up with another liter and bleed the system by going lock to lock with the engine running. For a few seconds the pump made various noises, none of them good, but it shut up on about the third go lock to lock and is silent now.

One thing I will add is to make sure the lid to the hydraulic res is screwed on properly, I made the mistake of leaving it a turn loose and made quite a mess when flushing the fluid through as it comes out the top quickly even with the pipe in a bucket. Didn't have time to do anything about it as the flushing process takes seconds and you have to be pouring fluid into the funnel the whole time.

whyle the engine is running, if I press the brake pedal, ~5 ~6 times, I´ll se the (!).
I forgot to do the other test with the engine not running.

But is it a bomb fail?
