Yes, you'll find a similar arrangement albeit that the Zebra strips are shorter on the B4 LCD so you need to swap them over.

By 'zebra strips' do you mean these?

If so, how are they attached to the screen?

Yes, that's them they just peel off, they are held in place with a weak adhesive from what I remember.

          Really??

I guess I'll just take a brave pill and carry on taking it apart then!

          Thanks

Hold on a sec, I've got one in front of me now...

edit #1: Well, I thought I did. It's the autocheck display rather than the computer LCD. They are very similar in construction though.

Anyway, from *memory* you can just gently peel of each strip, to reattach them all you need to do is drop the shorter strips into the white plastic "light box" and the sit the LCD on top. Gently press the the glass down at the left and right edges to right create a compression fit.

edit #2: Just unscrew the the board computer PCB from it's housing and flip it over to see the light box for the LCD, I'm sure you'll be able to figure out how to remove if once you see it. There are a couple of tabs you ned to push in to remove the black plastic cover once that's off I think you can lift out the LCD which is also held in place with a couple of tabs on the sides.

Andy, I see that you have an C4 A6 display, remember that mdz posted in this thread that these have a smaller pin displacement than the B4 and C4 100 LCD screens.

Yes, B4 screen has pins in entire width of it, C4A6 screen only in width of that strip. I compared them both today just to be sure.
You can replace dead B4 screen with one from C4 100/S4 (like I did) and C3 with "new" dashboard (>88. IIRC).
If you need help dismantling B4 instrument cluster, I have my cluster out of car now and can take a few pictures.

I missed your earlier post about the C4 screen not being compatible

Sorry for being late, but here they are:

                    Undo these bolts

Take off BC/AC unit and remove coding plug (or it will fall out itself later anyway):

                    Undo these bolts

Split the unit in half and undo these:

Take out circuit board. Then there's 3 pins at the top and 3 at bottom holding black cover. Unclip them ant take off cover.

                    Done

After my last few emails went unanswered I thought they'd lost interest in this, but I finally got an answer today and they'd just forgoten about it! They are going to chase their LCD supplier. I'll report back as soon as I have any news.

I really hope they can sort this as mine has now dried up completely

Here's the latest email on replacement screens, they need some more information to test the prototype, can anybody help with a pin out?

                          "Hi Andrew,
Would you happen to have any wiring information for that trip computer board? I cannot find anything here in the states. This is to test the prototype LCD's and then to go with production. Which I will then install one and send the entire unit back to you.
I found ground and a power terminal. The CPU powers up, the LCD driver is doing its thing, but all the digits on the original LCD are still blank. So I may be missing one additional power connection. I want to make sure it is working before trying the prototype panel. I cant risk damaging the prototype LCD.
From what I understand, these LCDs worked with just the exception of the black half moons taking over?
If you don't know the pinout for the trip computer board, can you locate me a full cluster (on ebay for example). I'll order the entire cluster as I have the general power and ground data for that. With an entire working assembly, I can identify power and grounds for the trip computer board so it can be powered up separately."

Looks like we could be getting close
