    • Hey thank you! yes this is the plastic vent I was talking about the first picture.
And yes it is collecting here the water, so it could come from here or from somewhere else as the footwell is the lowest part. since I checked last theres less water,, its more condensation now and not a small puddle.

The car has now been transported to an electrical specialist. Fingers crossed x

      • Hey guys!! an update on all of this! My ECU is gone and unrepairable! so I am getting a new ECU from Emerald, The electrics are being sorted by a specialist also, so hopefully this will get the car running again. Then its tlc time again!

        • Glad to hear you are getting sorted out. Was the damaged ECU caused by the alternator?

          • Hey Greg! thank you, Im not sure atm, if it was , it could be an old ECU?

All I know is that the ECU is un7repairable and requires replacing... I cannot trace anything back to the alternator or that shop for costs of damage caused. I need more proof for that.
My guys in the workshop atm have removed the odl scorpion alarm too and will fit the new ecu once it gets made and sent off to them .. then it'll be a case of new alarm / fitting , further work done on car and get car on road - then cambelt change and renewing of parts to 7get her ready for a april Nurburgring trip.

                        • Nice to hear you are up and running again. Have you had the emerald mapped or a generic map to get you started?

                            Hey Greg! thank you!
The car is having alsorts of nice mods, having a detachable solar panel put in to charge the battery once its been left for awhile. Also had a cat 1 Toad alarm put in. It is atm going to look at getting a speaker upgrade.

In response to your question its got the standard emerald map on it to get her running. Once I've done a fluid flush cambelt change brake fluids, waterpump, full service and mechanical check and make sure its all in order I will take her back to emerald to get it tuned on the rolling road and see what she is pumping out.

Engine mods will be 3inch exhaust 1 silencer, obv now a chip .. and a stronger crank pulley.
Is there anything else I could add to pop onto her before the remap that might help boost the power a bit?

(On stock rods), without blowing the car up, haha.
Also any ideas on a rough cost also?

Huge thanks btw, sorry been so busy sorting other things, will hopefully get more active xxx

Big up LSG also for being an awesome person and helping me out -- Im still borrowing his crank locking tool until its all done!! plus help in other mechanical bits for the car. Super nice guy and a good Mechanic!! will pop down again buddy when I can.

                            • I would prioritise the mechanicals first then start to add the other elements. Check the fuel lines aren’t corroded. Think about an upgraded oil cooler, change to direct ignition coils using Error404 harness if you haven’t already. change the intake hoses for silicone ones and fit new clips.

                              • Chris, have you driven on the Nurburgring before?
I would concentrate on reliability and safety. A standard car will have plenty of power, in any case you will get passed by locals in 150hp stripped out golfs and polos..
The last thing you want is to drop oil or coolant and get a huge bill for causing someone to crash.

I don’t know how heavy you are on the brakes but I would check everything over including hoses, change the discs and pads if worn and definitely change the brake fluid.

There’s no point fitting a bigger turbo to a stock manifold, the manifold is the bottle neck. You should find the car is more responsive and feels more powerful on the new ECU as long as everything else is working well and the tuner knows what he’s doing.
