Has anybody who's had a plug fail, sent it back to Bosch for them to examine?

Bosch surley know about this problem with some of their plugs and if any customer against all odds do get some goddwill/insurance money it´s just like a fart in the fog or a drop in the ocean for them... Every big autodealer count these things in...

I stick with my NGK after seen Thuppus plugs...

Any update on this topic? The last entry was about 4 months ago.
I'm gonna change mine soon ('95 S2Avant), and would welcome any new feedback, otherwise will go with PRJ's recommendation of FR5DP.

I went with FR5DTC on my last change about 2 months ago on an AAN. Car runs great on them, that's with TFSi coils and OEM boost levels but I budget to replace them every 5000 miles maximum as they are copper tri-electrode. Maybe the scare stories with the Bosch platinums are just a result of people over-torquing them but I wasn't prepared to take that risk.

Why dont you use NGK BKR series?

                  They seem to be reliable
                  Cheers

Damn plugs started misfiring on stock boost levels after I fixed all boost leaks. And they were 1,5 months old. They are *****. I swapped to NKG BCPR7ET, NGK alternative to Bosch FR5DTC. I'll avoid Bosch plugs in the future.

FR5-DTC. Those are good, and have a very nice cost.

                            NGK. Play it safe.

Cheap plugs are very much dearer in the long run if they fail.

I'm currently running NGK BCR8ES's in my Homefried ABY with no probs. £15 for a set
The plugs that were in before were NGK BKR7EIX's...never really been a fan of Platinum/iridium's cause they seem to foul fairly easily. The copper's never miss a beat though.
