boost lag and fuel economy question

I am looking at upgrading to 18s at some point with at least 235 tyres, as I feel that would improve handling

The only one to go for is the 18" Avus imho. Think i will get me a set at some point too and excellent wheel!

Yep they look good, just get one of them weighed they don't want to be heavy or they will ruin the handling! There's 2 types genuine and reps. Oem would be best and lighter.

Wouldn't need spacers then? Running 20mm all round.

Yep the smaller the et number means the wheel sticks out further Janis. 18 avus are calling you.

But you can get various offsets as they were also made for the A4 and the TT etc..

Just went for a testdrive with a gap between downpipe and cats and car still won't boost past 2.2 bar, so it's not blocked exhaust.

If it was fuel I guess it would shake at some point, but I can push it through whole rev range without missing a beat.

And it is boost leak tested.

I can't remember whether you are reading boost from a OE digital boost gauge or an aftermarket analogue gauge. If OE digital and stock chips, etc. 2.2 Bar is max. If your ECU is chipped with a 300 kPa (3 Bar) MAP sensor, the digital boost gauge isn't calibrated for a 3Bar MAP (just a 2.5 Bar MAP) so the readings will be wonky and meaningless.
