K24R Offset Solid Top Mounts

As with so many things I try and do at the moment, this seems to have dragged on and on...

Anyway, I've finally got another quote and will be refining the design to reduce cost a little. With the motorsport spec bearings, these are still looking like £300 a pair, mainly due to the small batch sizes that such a specialist product requires and the cost of quality bearings that will last... This is on a par with other top end products that I have seen and I hope that the increased size and top end quality of the bearings that I have specified mean that these are more durable than a lot of the top mounts that you can get...

Anyway, fingers crossed that I'll at least get some prototypes sometime this year...

Just resurrecting a rather old thread and idea.

I'm hoping to get some prototypes made up to house the £150 worth of bearings that have sat in a drawer for the last 2+ years! Watch this space for some serious top mount action.

If all goes well, then I'll run a batch for interested parties, although cost will be pretty high due to quality parts and low production volume.

One of the weakest links on every B4 car, so got to be a decent market out there for a decent non race harshness upgraded top mount.

Satisfaction with the top mount would be ahead of price for me, as I won't have to keep replacing them, and the hassle that involves, when there's loads of other things that can / needs to be done on the car.

Drawings are in with Kev. Watch this space. I'll be significantly poorer after I get these made but they are super and will double my front castor (when combined with the offset subframe bushes I have sat here!).

Any photos of the offset bushes placed beside standard bushes ?

The dowels are a problem for me. You need to file out the reinforcement ring in the subframe to fit them, leaving it liable to cracking (IMHO of course)
