thanks for those pics/ info, chaps. i'm just toying with the idea of a paintjob but obviously it can't be anything that varies wildly from the shade that it is just now. the bodyshop guy is goading me to get it done (obviously!) but i thought that something bordering purple from dark blue would be a nice idea.

any idea what shade my old tub is? (here's some shots prior to the idiots getting hold of it - the previous owners - not me, that is!) minging blue??

To me your car looks like LZ5T Pearl Blue. And as shaun has now confirmed his paint code is Ming Blue which he calls purple/blue Ming is the colour your looking for.

you don't reckon that my paintwork could be C2 indigo pearl effect? it's a pearlescent paint. i notice that the E8 brilliant blue, although similar seems to be a non metallic finish according to the brochure??

I think this would be better or more easily discussed and finalised on the bleather When is most convenient? Your car looks blue pearl to me. Have you not got a build sticker in the boot near the spare wheel somewhere or close to it? If you go back and look at my interior shots of my A6 2.8 that colour you see on the bodywork is blue pearl LZ5T.

Do what Duffelcoat did.Go to DVLA and ask them to release URS 420V. You will probably win it for £400. No bull thats what you do if it's available.
