I've got all the seals etc... so I'll just need to give it a go.

    Controlled drift Sounds good.

The Avant broadside would probably take up both lanes!

last of the mods.... for a while

At last... I finally manage to fit the Torsen to the Avant.

There is a word to describe it... transformed

From an understeerer to neutral handling in the dry and that was just a quick 5 minute blast to check that everything was going to stay in place.

A damp surface + bootful would provoke oversteer OR a large bootful in the dry ought to do it too :mischeif: but I've a little too much mechanical symphathy for pushing it out in the dry....

In all I'm fairly chuffed with the 'package' that is the old bus now - v.quick, good handling and comfy in a sporting sort of way and it couldn't have been done without this forum and the technically minded folk in it - Cheers all you know who you are

Look at the differential information at s2central.net - on the technical pages. Search the 'net for sites about LSD transmission...

I thought that as well, but left the original 'bed' with the V8 bearing - there was no visible wear and there's no noise to indicate a poor bearing surface match...

Can be really stupid question but I will ask anyways. when you guys talk about V8 rear diff swap, you guys use Ve rear diff from automatic car or manual? Because is almonst impossible to find this car with manual tranny. In usa has a bunch of those but they are all automatic transmission. The diff are all the same? Just give me a heads up if someone knows. Thank you all!!!!
                              Best Regards,

Yep, same diff. The P/N differs due to dessignation but the diff unit is the same. A good thing about buying a diff from a auto car is that it's most likely not been subjected to the same amount of abuse as a manual 'box would have - the converter in the auto tranny is pretty effiecient of damping out torque peaks! Oh and, a auto tranny is probably the most effective way of taking out all the fun and joy out of a car meaning that the auto cars prolly haven't been driven all that hard.
