After reclocked the whole turbo, the initial DP doesnt fit so I have to made a new one. Now its tacked and seems everything will be ok. Its a tight almost everywhere but fits nicely . I have to add a flex joint to wg/Dp routing (ordered one) . The hood could be closed now so I am happy as well not sure if the headlight will fit...but I Would say yes. Now have to weld everything and also to find some turbofilter which will fit there or made some pie cuts piping and route it somewhere where will be access
Manifold is DONE !! fully welded, prepared to be mounted on the car. The merge collector came out really nicely as well as the whole manifold..Now have to finish the Downpipe, make a new oil hose for the turbo and the car could be started. I was thinking I would make a screamer pipe, but there is small space now, so I will skip the screamer pipe and make it into the DP, I think the police and MOT will be satisfied with no screamer pipe
IC piping I will make after the car will be started. Not sure which way I will route the IC piping but I want it as short as possible.
Manifold is almost done...two welds are missing...one on cyl #1 and wg outlet hole is missing...but next week manifold will be completely done and could be finally mounted with a turbo onto the engine
3 runners are fully welded. Now have to finish the rest two of them and then I could weld it all together. There are a lot of spots where I can't reach with my tig torch so it has to be welded outside. A little bit scared of shrinking, but seems fine so far, will see how this ends up. Hopefully, next week will be ready. Also, my WG outlet is missing, so it will be drilled and welded during the weekend I think. Otherwise, welds look pretty nice if I consider that I weld only sometimes and not my full-time job.
Yesterday i started welding the turbo manifold. Its really hard to reach lot of spots, but I tried to weld as much as possible when everything is tacked to prevent any shrinking. The argon bottle is empty, have to wait a week for a full one but then I will finish the rest then I will break each runner and weld what is missing and then I weld it into the collector and head flange. Its a really challenging job for sure.
I've been very busy last week. I tacked the turbo manifold and it will came up really nice and also the downpipe is tacked. Now have to weld everything it will be a lot of welding for sure, but I am really please with how this ended up. Hopefully, I don't **** this up
Custom engine wiring is done. I am so happy it's finished, everything is working, and no errors at all. Amazing feeling. Now have to make a new turbo manifold, aluminium coolant pipes, downpipe and the rest of exhaust and car could go to the dyno.
The wiring was a tough challenge but everyone could do that
The engine wiring saga continues..On Tuesday I wired all injectors and then went to the ignition coils wiring. I have to say, crimping and all the stuff around is really time-consuming. I found making an engine harness cool and relaxing (sometimes), on the other side it pisses me off when you do it in the engine bay and you don't have comfort or you can't reach some points
It is a challenge for sure
More wires related pictures. The second connector is branched and in the heatsink, only the last 1/4 of the length is not heatshrinked yet. Now, I will crimp everything on the engine bay side and then I will cover everything up. For splicing, I am using open barrel splice crimps from TE/AMP. Maybe for 5v splicing, I will use a Deutsch DTM connector which will be bridged inside...but not sure at this moment
The fuel pump is fitted inside the tank i also tested the pump flow with a voltage source and it works nicely. The fuel feed line and return line is also ready under the car. Only engine bay hoses needs to be done, but I will finish it once the wiring is fully made. Currently, I am in the middle of making an engine wiring harness. Once the wiring is fully done, I will start making the turbo manifold. This will be challenging as well, but I am looking forward to it
