  • Not really made a decision yet, will have to see what other companies are able to do, either way the wheels must match -as I am sure you understand

    • There are electroplated 'chrome' plastic split rim bolts available on ebay. They are about £30 for 120... Not labelled speedline and ive not seen one in the plastic so to speak to see if they are any good but, they do look close to original shape.

I opted for bonding short stainless steel Allen bolts into my rims once id removed all the original plastic speedline ones. They are standard head but if you could find a flange head allen bolt, that will look closer and be a more long term than probably Chinese stuff from Chebay.

I wonder if they would send a couple as samples?

        • Yeah, seen them, I would hope they look OK in the flesh, certainly that set I linked to just above seems to use them to good effect, and appear the right shape:

All possible, but still left with a £750 bill

          • To add, the bolts in those linked to wheels are apparently aluminium, after a quick google translate. No lacquer on the rim, which is no good for winter, frankly.

            • To add again, I am now considering making my own wheel repair jig out of an old hub, a motor and some creative thinking

I've used this type and had some from the USA, they're ok but the stateside ones were better I think.......a lot dearer too!

                      • John, did you put them on and leave as finished or paint/lacquer over? Just wondering how their plating has lasted in service on a wheel.

All this talk of shiny rims is making me think my painted outer rim needs to visit a diamond cutter one day and then put in some of those bolts you've used to finish off.

                        • Painted speedline rims = a crime

                          • Automotive crime yes but they've lasted 12 years before corrosion has reappeaered

Ive got a spare you might be interested in... Check your messages.

Left both as is, the car with the e-bay bolts doesn't belong to me anymore and the other wheels have been lying in the garage for about 5 years so can't really say they're "in service"!!
