Aha, there should be illumination in the diff switch. I didn't know that.
I have the DIFF, orange triangle and green led working but not the normal lighting. I'll add it to the list of fixes...

Work is proceeding. Autocheck began to work correctly after i dissasembled the knob, wich was faulty mounted (stuck in pushed position). So now that works fine.
Today i changed some light bulbs that were blown. With the help from past forum posts i changed light bulbs in the outside temp gauge and the diff lock switch. So now i mounted back the instrument cluster for the last time in a while i hope Been out and in a million times by now. Called the interior guy today, he has not started on my door cards yet. That was sad news, but no stress. I have some pics of some shining interior stuff anyway! Now i will continue with the window switches and rear mirror switch lights.

So far i have just mounted the front ones. I had to trim off two ears on the speakers. As the original only uses two. The new speakers was really tight to get down, but when they are down they stay in place. They are held down with one screw, like the original. And as said before, the cover fits, so you cant see that the speakers is changed.

Stereo and front speakers is now installed and functional. The 4" speakers fitted, but it was a tight fit, the magnet in the bottom was much larger than stock speakers. The original speaker cover also fitted back on, so i'm pleased with that. The sound of just the front speakers is also much better than before (original front speakers was the only ones that worked before).
Now it's the rear speakers left to mount and connect. But for that i need the door cards wich still is at the car interior guy.
So i started with some other interior jobs. As i'm going to fit carbon interior trims, i needed to change the trims for the clima-control, extra gauges and the ashtray. Said and done, while i was in there i changed light bulbs for the ciggarette light, the ashtray, clima panel, extra-gauges and the glove box. I will also look over the window switches light, rear mirrors light, diff lights and instrument cluster lights to get them all to work. It's make it much more cosy when everything works

Difference between original 4" and Focal 4" speakers:

Microphone for the handsfree mounted at the top of the A-pillar, works really well and is almost not visible:
    45764-68cca71e9dbd56e72399f6e79d41d4ec.jpg
Mounted stereo and black trims, i need to adjust the light setting for the stereo to match the rest some more:

Carbon airbag getting installed, the old one had 2-contacts for the airbag charges the carbon just one. But as these are so rare to find i don't want to connect it anyway, installed 2 x 2ohm restrictors to the contacts to get the airbag light functional for the MOT. Right or wrong, but i dont dare to connect it if it blows:

Some new plastic parts that was missing/ugly:
    45764-42ebdb22fb039f373fbff1d0862723ea.jpg
Instrument cluster after rebuild of the trip-computer. Also installed new lights (led) for the instrumens, but i missed the digital clock, will fix that. The Auto-check is now also showing signs of life, the code 51 appears to come up if the knob for the (interior light/autocheck) is pushed in as the ignition is turned on. This make sence since my knob is stucked for some reason. I will dissasemble it some day and change to a spare one i have on my S2 instument cluster. Then hopefully the Auto-check also comes to life again

Now i have some lights to start to change for buttons etc and hopfully i get my door cards back soon.

Started to get in to the stereo electrics and speaker connections. As it was, some one put in an amplifier in the luggage (wich i throw out the day i got the car home) since then only my speakers in the dashboard worked I found a connection scheme at S2central for the stereo. Im going to use the standard cables and speaker locations. The ones who installed the aftermarket speakers/stuff left the original cable connections almost unharmed. I have started to throw out the cables they put in the car. Today i started to figure out the power cables to the new stereo, a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB. The ISO connector was almost right, i just had to relocate the power ( constant 12V+ from T8b/7 to T8b/4) to get it to work correct with the powersupply. Speaker wise they use 2 different connectors for front/rear speakers. One 8-pol connector for the front and one 10-pol for the rears. As the front speakers only use 4 connections on the 8-pole connector, i moved the rear speaker connections to the 8-pol iso connector. My new radio only have 2 Iso connectors. One for power supply and one for speakers. A little fiddling, but now it is fixed. The original connector was a little short to reach the stereo, so i made a adapter from the old stereo.
Now im waiting for my door cards to get back so i can mount speakers and trims.

Rear doors back from the interior shop. He managed to fix the holes for the window crank beautifuly i think. Could not be more pleased. He also fixed my ashtray and extra gauge panel. Looking a bit sad before, with some marks and stuff. Yesterday i left the door cards that was on the RS2 (now cleaned and fixed holes for the speakers, in the front ones) at the interior shop. He took the job to fit new alcantara on the door cards and also to put new fabric on the door pockets where the speakers were before. So now it's just a waiting game for me until i get them back, hopefully looking 100% good.

    My fixed spare door cards:

Sure, easier. But not that much work to fill up the holes as the fabric will cover the "repair". Glued on some plastic on the back side of the panels today. Then i think I will use some insulation tape to get it level with the front surface.
All 4 door cards is cleaned from foam and old glue. So far 11 hours spendt on the door cards.
Spoke to a specialist of car interiors yesterday, he will help me fit the alcantara parts. So now im a little bit less nerveous about my project

Hi! I have been a little bit busy with car parts. The rear extra door cards is at a company to fill up the holes for the window crank. The guy said the repair will be hard to see. Well, lets see how they turn out.
Today i started dissasemble my current door cards that i will put the Koblat blue alcantara on and repair the holes for the front door speakers. I want the original look.

I used a soldering pen to get the plastic welds out for the front cover on the door cards. Went quite easy without to much damage. I think they will be easy to glue back on (glue on the "weld taps").
Cleaned one front door today, turned out good i think. Now it's just the rest to do
Used a stiff root brush to get the loose foam off, plastic scraper and glue solvent.
I think i will put some plastic, glued on the back of the holes for the speakers and then just use some material to fill the gap, so the fabric will be smooth over the hole.
I hope the guys/women that made the speaker installation is proud of their work, nice huh?
