Today the sun was shining and little bit of snow has fallen here in the south of Sweden. Thought it was a perfect day to give the car some fresh air and take some photos.

Wheels back from the machining. Fitted Today. What a difference it makes (in my opinion). Don't think i will ever use the stock wheels again Very pleased with the outcome. There is not much space in front between the tire and tie-rod. Maybe i will put in a 5mm spacer just to get some more room. The KW is set at max height in front. Back its maybe 2/3 of the full height if i remember correct.
Snapped some photos before it was put in the garage again, will have to take better ones another day with better weather.

Rear wheels mounted, stock wheels in front:

    And all 4 wheels on:

KW V1 suspension fitted to the car yesterday. I will change the tie end rods and then do a wheel alignment. Also the new rims are at the machine shop to enlarge the center bore.

    Some pics from yesterday:

Now it sits much higher than before, and this is not max height, so thats good i think. Before the wheels was under the fenders.

Busy days, i thought i would get some rest from the garage/car as the bolt galvanizing usually takes a week. But today i got the bolts back for the suspension.
So now i have all parts to fit the KW-suspension. Also got some VAG-special tools for the front strut nut.
New tires arrived today also, so tomorrow it is off to the rim company so they can bore the center on the rims up to 73.1mm and fit the new tires.
Lots of stuff the last days, but hopefully soon i can have the car back on the ground with new suspension and new rims, looking good

Today i draged myself to the garage to clean the wheel housings. Said and done, what a crap job. But it turned out better than i could have imagine. So well spend time before the new suspension is mounted.
Bolts/nuts for the suspension is at the galvanizing company.

Today i started with the changing of suspension. Everything came off simple and without braking any parts, so thats good. The front struts will be replaced with the KW struts. At the rear the "housings" is used together with the KW dampers/springs. I took the parts to work and cleaned the parts as good i could. I will save the parts, even if i don't think i will ever use them again. It's feels good to have them "clean" before i put them to rest.
The rear housings is in good shape. The upper control arms has some surface corrosion. For now i think i will just put some paint on them to protect them until i will do a full restore of the subframes rear/front.
Next up is to clean the wheel housings and all nuts/bolts for the suspension. Waiting on new top mounts and tie-rods for the front. Otherwise it's just the owner that needs to put in some hours..

    Suspension off the car:

Suspension parts cleaned, (The Koni stuff has seen better days):

    Rear:

Maybe tomorrow i have time to start cleaning the wheel housings and the bolts.

A nice package arrived today. New rims, these are Keskin KT2 CUP wheels. Measure is 18x8,5" ET52. The center bore is to small (71,6mm) for RS2 so i have to leave them to a machine shop to enlarge them to (73,1mm RS2). Can't wait to fit them and the KW suspension

It's been a while since last post, no news on the car itself. Car sits in the garage and the winter is coming closer.
My birthday was some weeks ago. Last week i thought i would buy myself a nice present. So i did, KW V1 suspension kit for the blue.
Sure i like the more settings on the V3, but i think i won't have so much use for those "extra settings" on the road/cruising tripps.
So i went with the V1, and of course the price was a little lower than the V3 version. But i think it will do just fine.
The shocks/springs on the car is KONI now and they are way to low in my opinion. I'm after the height adjust mostly as i will buy new 18" wheels and want the car to sit properly on both the original/aftermarket wheels.

Is there anything i should be aware of when i change to the KW suspension or is it just straight forward job? Searched the forum and could not find any post of the job, so i assume it's pretty easy job. Just found some that were using aftermarket bearings on the front struts. But i'm going original stuff. I think i will change topmounts in the front and the rods for the swaybar as they need to come off anyway. Rest of the undercarriege will be refurbished later on, and then i will blast/change bushings etc.
Well here is some pictures of my birthday present to myself:
