I wasn't planning on doing that. These are the heavy duty ones and they are much more substantial than the rusty ones that were on the car.

    New bits are arriving.

I could not find pipe rubbers for the Ur. Thanks to Colesy, I got some from Audi Tradition for the A8. A small trim and they work well.

I gave the hubs a good clean.

The front ball joints are also in soak. I was going to get new ones until I saw the price!
They are actually very good with no play. I have just ordered new rubbers and will re grease them. The rear ones were not so good but they seem much cheaper and widely available.
Off to the powder coat man with this lot tomorrow.

I got to test out my wheel bearing removal tool in anger. They all came out ok but one needed a soak overnight in Newsh’s special formula.

The front shocks came out no problem and look very new.

The rear ones were much more difficult and look like originals. One appears dead so I’m on the look out for a pair if anyone has some for sale.

I am gathering stuff together for blasting and powder coating.

    Engine bay is almost clear.

I’m not sure how much of the loom to remove yet. I might keep the wires running through the bulkhead and wrap them up in a bag.

    The steering gaiter is toast

I had a flickering brake warning light.
I think I found the issue. One of the wires to the abs pump was very loose in the plug and just fell out.

Cheers mate. I think skateboard wheels would be stronger!
