Kit kindly sent me a pic of his engine bay so I was able to correctly route the unusual rs2 specific pipe in the correct way. I've got most of the coolant pipes re fitted now.

I got the injector rail fitted. As I suspected, fuel pipes will need some work to get them to fit.

I also re fitted the gear linkage. I can get all gears except reverse but have no clutch as yet. It might need a tweak. The gearbox end joints got plenty of rubber grease.

Happy new year everyone. I hope you are enjoying the thread. Smiley face.

I couldn't find a new gasket for the wastegate in the UK and refuse to pay nearly £50 for one from Europe.
    My old one is toast.

I have some exhaust gasket material from another project.

    And got to work.

I did a test fit on an old wastegate. It won't win any prizes for looks but it should work fine.

I think I have a cooler shroud you could copy. I've been saving up parts to replace the missing rusty mess, couldn't find it just now but it's probably in a black bin liner with the oily cooler and pipes somewhere up the back of the “cave”. I'll try and have a look tomorrow, being an RS2 it would be good to get it back mostly stock.

Yes. Might have to ditch the aux rad and put the oil cooler there.

Just tinkering really. Still not 100% so only doing an hour or two each day.

Discovered that I should have put the pas pipes in before the engine. Still, a bit more difficult but got there in the end. Pic taken whilst in progress. Not final route.

Oh, gosh, good luck. Our S2 dissolved that about a decade ago.

So before I tighten this up, could someone with an RS2 confirm the route this hose takes to the bottom of the coolant reservoir?
Also did a few other little jobs like tightening up the crank bolt to 450nm. Big boys toys required for that.

Then I went to fit my nice new shiny oil cooler. I however hit another problem. I don't seem to have the shroud. They normally rot out so I'm not surprised. Has anyone either got a good one for sale or one they could take measurements from so I can re make one?
