Radiator has gone back in. I had to re make the connection on the fan as someone had cut the wire.

Next job is to clean up and re paint the slam panel.

Just unplug the single wire connector on the top of the compressor, that's the feed for the clutch and you can be sure the compressor won't engage. Can run that way forever without any damage if you choose.

I'm not that far off going for a first start of the engine. I have no ac oil\gas in the system. Do i need to remove the ac belt to prevent damage or will it be safe with ac switched off and presumably the compressor clutch won't engage?

The radiator, air guides and hoses got disassembled and cleaned.

The radiator is dated 2002 and seems in good shape.

I will give that a go. Thanks for the tip.

I made up a little heat shield for the engine mount. I've never seen one here but the etka shows one. Makes sense as the turbo gets very hot.

Then the downpipe went on. This is difficult even with awkward access spanners.

    And my home made specials.

Now I've hunted the forum but can't find the wiring diagram for the cooling fan resistor plate under the horns. I want to check I've got them in the right order if anyone can confirm.
EDIT. Found it on S2 Central. Thanks Paul if you are reading.

Harpic Power Plus 10X is brilliant on stainless exhausts. Just be sure to wear gloves and wash it off with plenty of water afterwards.
