Ok, I came up with a solution. Gear change cables wrapped and high temp heat shield material bonded to the underside.
2026-09-18_11-03-13_739.jpg I had to remove the oil cooler to fit the front engine mount.
2026-09-19_09-18-56_201.jpg 2026-09-19_09-19-05_927.jpg Downpipe got re fitted. Its tight but i think it will be fine. Both drive shafts now also fitted.

Was going to suggest lot's of heat shielding for the selector cables but you've already done it, nice work as always Dave.

And I must invest in some crows foot spanners! Save's so much time making custom tools, plus I've just about run out of spanners I don't like to chop up and modify.

Yes. Loom was modified by friend of friend who does conversions. ECU de immobilized and tweaked a little
Slow on updates as busy with family stuff.
Waiting on coolant hose parts to make some new ones up as well.

I've made a little progress. Plumbed up the clutch. Made a little bracket to mount the reservoir.

But for some reason i have a leak where the banjo connects to the slave. I've tried new copper washers. Might be an uneven surface on the slave? Bloody annoying.

The intercooler recommend is massive! Wouldn't look out of place on an S2.
2026-09-27_19-00-01_423.jpg Its tight but just fits.
2026-09-27_19-08-30_454.jpg And very snug with the radiator in.
2026-09-27_19-11-43_829.jpg Now i need to measure up for boost pipes and custom silicone connectors.

Try alumunum washers for the banjo? They'll be softer.

Sorry guys for lack of updates but been busy clearing my mums house as she recently moved into a very nice care home. Back at it now. I haven't fixed the slave issue (yet). I tried new aluminium washers but it was still weaping. I guess i will need to get another slave.
Then I found that i needed to clock the cold side of the turbo. Apparently, this is best done with turbo off the car so all the parts i recently fitted need to come off again in order to get access. Doh!
Anyway, this gives me an opportunity to clean the intake manifold which is seriously clogged up with carbon gunge. I'm deleting the EGR so it won't happen again.

Apologies for being thick! But what is "clocking the cold side of the turbo?"

The outlet is pointing in the wrong direction so I need to loosen the housing bolts and rotate it 1/4 of a turn.

For the slave, shouldn't it be a flare fitting anyways? Could also try to flatten the surface with paper and a solid bit of steel.

I'm using this conversion kit from Rectification. Probably was originally designed for a flared fitting.

Last resort is use Dowty washers. You can get them with the rubber part suitable for brake fluid.

spent the day on the car today. Turbo out in the morning, clocked to the right position and replaced in the afternoon.
While i was there i wrapped the downpipe.
