Went to run the car at the local drag racing after work today. Was planning on running tomorrow but the weather forecast is shocking. Got there at 3pm so didn't have much time to run. Managed to get 5 runs and had issues on each run. Firstly it managed to oil the plugs up for the first 2 runs so had a misfire. 3rd run it cleared out but then the water hose came off the water pump across the line and it dropped all its water. Got that sorted out then on the 4th run it turned the alternator belt inside out. On the final run it blew a boost pipe off!

Despite all the issues it was great to use the car in anger and find out the areas that need work. The box is painfully slow into 2nd gear I think I might have bent the selector at Prescott as its very slick through the other gears. On top of all that its twisted another pair of rear shafts! lol

Couldn't manage to get it to hook up off the line even with the diffs locked. Best 60 foot time was 2 seconds dead. Best time was 12.59. Ran 131 mph terminals 3 times into a very strong head wind as you can hear on the videos. A lot more to come from the time and it should push further into 130mph terminals with good conditions, shows its making strong power!

Good effort mate, I'm sure when you've had days like theses you'll know where you are with it. Then you'll kick proper ****, it's not like you wasn't with terminals like that!

What weight / bhp do you think you have right now ?

Its around 700bhp. Not weighed it yet but i am thinking its going to be around the 1200kg range going by others.

Well in similar weight car 131mph terminal is a 10.6 with a 1.6 60ft.

So definately heading in the right direction. As for the second gear change this is a problem I have battled on the 6 speed box's since the beginning short of a dog box not much you can do about it. Although have managed a 1.82 60ft at santa pod in mine on street tires.

I was very happy with the terminal speed into the headwind. I am sure it would be closer to 135mph on a calm day. It will run a 10 on a proper track once its all set up properly I am sure of that.

I have heard 2nd can be an issue, this on the ur box still. Its really hard to get into second now so I am thinking something is wrong as it can take the other gears fine from the limiter. Hoping the S4 box is better otherwise I will have to look at a dog box.

Hi Hamish,what level of boost do you run???
Do you run race fuel all the time or do you have a Seperate map for pump fuel??
Is this straight liners at Elvington?

I found that it is best launched at 5000 rpm,makes for a very short 1st gear
Do you not have the launch control configured??

We all have days like that Hamish, very fast terminal BTW

I have the 01E box and never have issues with 2nd so it looks like it may solve your problems.

+1 to launch control, i set mine to about 4800 and get 1.6-1.8 60 foot's on 195 road tyres.

It was running on race fuel yesterday I have 2 maps for race and road fuel yes, 2.2 bar boost.

I dont have any lauch control on the car at the moment thats definatly on the list. I was suprised just how easily it spun up compared to Prescott where it kept bogging down but we were way down on power there. It was a straight liners event but at an old runway near Kirkbride. It makes Elvington look like Santa Pod in terms of grip!

Good to hear you dont have any issues with the O1E Baz and to get to a 1.6 60ft on 195 road tyres is very impressive! I am hoping with the 01E in mine next year I can get it running similar 60ft times and into the 10's.
