      Are you going to use washers to space down the passenger side engine mount or is the mock fitting on your car o.k for height because your not using a reverse manifold?

      • Only time will tell on this one, I'm hoping that with a std inlet manifold it's not going to be much of a problem.

        • Took the winter wheels off today and fitted these





          Can anybody photoshop them so the centres are the same colour as the bodywork?

              • Made some progress on the exhaust. This is the Jetex back box



                I cut the std flange off and stepped it up to 3" to mach the rest of the system.



                This is the middle silencer and pipe work



                It's all just tacked at the moment but I had it all on the car this afternoon and the alignment is near perfect
                I picked up the parts I need this week to make a back purge set up on the welder, so I'll have a practice and then get this lot welded.

                      I fitted my lowered springs a few weeks ago, they were std springs that I had lowered by 15mm. I checked them before and after and they were down by 15mm, but when I put them on the car only the front went down. The back is still at 660mm ride height, which I've been told is std
                      Only difference front to back is 034 street density top mount front and Audi blues rear.

                      • Sounds daft and im dont mean to sound patronising but has the car been driven or not, i fitted a lowing spring kit to my car and took it a couple of days to settle in.

                        • Another thing I've just remembered, when I fitted the springs I fitted new hubs and struts off a later car ( ABY? ) with the larger M14 strut to hub bolts.
                          Are these in any other way different to early 3B struts?

                          • Check the diameter of the shock tubes as I found two different sizes on my s2 when I had it.

                            • Well, there is no going back now, the engine is going in this weekend.

                              I've dropped it off the stand and fitted the flywheel and clutch



                              Started to strip parts off the old engine



                              I sense it could be a long weekend
