I struggled with those too, I ended up getting Exhausts UK to flare the ends and I had the rings made. Let me know if you need any, I can get more done.

Are you putting the box in along with the engine? did you ever sort out the reverse switch wiring issue for the 01E convertion?

Gearbox has been in for ages. The reverse light wiring is easy, just get a std Audi 2 pin female conector and extend the wires so they reach from the passenger side to the drivers side of the box.

Well, it's out, lots and lots of cleaning to do now before putting the new one back in.

nice times andy.. I hoped i had the chance to clean my engine bay, maybe reinforce it with a bit of more heat resistant sheets etc.

Dont forget to check the engine height vs bonnet clearance before you do up the engine mounts

All wnt quite smoothly, I gave the engine bay a good clean and painted the chassis legs with POR15. Fitted a re-con ABY steering arack and a new damper whilst I has access. Still a grade 1 pain the the *** though, anybody who tries to do this with the engine in is seriousley deranged
Looks like the cam pulley is hitting the bonnet, not by much though. I think the removal of the trim on the bonnet and spacing the engine mounts down by 5mm with fix it, but thats a job for tomorrow.
